Euro Truck Simulator 2 shift gears to add Oculus Rift support

Though driving an oversized freight vehicle through the ancient streets of Warsaw is already a thrilling adventure, SCS Software has decided to crank up the intensity of cult-favorite Euro Truck Simulator 2 by adding support for the Oculus Rift headset.

Before you get too excited, keep in mind that Oculus Rift support is still being tested. Players who own the Windows version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Oculus Rift hardware can access this new feature by downloading the Oculus public beta branch on Steam, just remember that there are still some issues that need to be ironed out. According to SCS, the game currently only supports true 3D Oculus Rift graphics in its core driving mode, while menus are all rendered in the standard two dimensions. OpenGL support has yet to be added to the beta branch, and those testing the feature should not be surprised to find in-game menus periodically distorted during gameplay.

If you'd rather not deal with these issues but remain curious about how Euro Truck Simulator 2 performs on the Oculus Rift, you're in luck: YouTube user "emart" has created a short video walkthrough exploring this new feature.
