Housing in EverQuest II
continues to impress me when readers like Roger decide to send in their creations. This is a completely savory abode that is totally on the up-and-up. I'll let him explain.
"The life (or un-life) of a Necromancer never ends, so we need a place to store all our valuables when we're not raising the dead," Roger writes.
Dude. Roger. I vouched
for you. I said "savory." And you give me a serial killer's man cave? I am so not sticking up for you when the police arrive.
Reader Sharvis continues to dream the dream that is haunting ArenaNet
: "I dearly hope we Guild Wars 2
players get to see Cantha in an expansion. It's such a beautiful locale, especially Shing Jea Island, the place you first start off in Guild Wars 1
I saw one of the devs' expression at PAX
when he was asked about Cantha. It was the face of utter despair. It was the face of a soul that had been crushed by the sheer repetition of this query. It was pretty funny to watch.
"One of the great things about the housing system in Star Wars Galaxies
was that it gave you a place to show off your character's history in the game," sent in reader Joe, "such as this section of my Mustafarian bunker that I devoted to hunting trophies. And since you could plant your house nearly anywhere in the game, there was always the chance that someone would stumble upon your house and check out your decorations, just as you could visit and get inspired by so many others."
I AM INSPIRED.
OK, so this week's screenshot challenge is to send me in a picture from Warhammer Online
. Yup, it's closing down next month, and I'd like to do a tribute column to it, so if y'all can do me a solid and get me at least four screenshots, we can make that happen.Want to be featured in a future edition of One Shots? Send your favorite MMO screenshots to firstname.lastname@example.org, and don't forget to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of the scene. Large, colorful, UI-free shots that tell a story and really show off the game make for the best images. Look ma, we brought back One Shots!
