The most frustrating thing you've never noticed about your iPhone's home screen
I look at my iPhone dozens -- sometimes hundreds -- of times a day, and I've always found it to be aesthetically pleasing, if not totally perfect. A single tweet from a friend changed all that, and now I can't unsee the iPhone's greatest flaw. If you clicked on this story, you've probably already noticed the image above where the blemish is made blatantly obvious, and for that I must apologize.
If you can't quite wrap your head around it, let me be clear: The home screen page identifiers aren't centered on the home screen, although to me they've always appeared to be. I've never even considered the fact that the subtle dots would be slightly askew, but they definitely are, and now my instinctive desire for symmetry is pushing me to write a strongly worded letter and send it in the direction of Cupertino.
OK, maybe a letter is a bit much, but I can't imagine a reason why the necessary attention wasn't paid to this admittedly minor design touch. Just for kicks I decided to boot up my original iPhone 2G to see if the issue was new to iOS 7 or if it has been hiding in plain sight since the late 2000s.
It's honestly a bit hard to tell if it's perfectly centered, given the very not-HD nature of the original iPhone's screen, but it certainly seems to be close enough. So what's up, Apple? Why hast thou forsaken your legions of Starbucks-guzzling, self-diagnosed OCD sufferers in such a way? We want symmetry, and we want it now.
