The Queue: Mildstar

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I got into the WildStar beta after...what, three years of waiting? I've really been looking forward to it, but under all the (admittedly lovely) art and animation, it's...just another kill-ten-rats MMO. I wonder if I'm outgrowing this genre.

DeanofWhoopass asked:

Is there any announced "catch up" mechanism for WoD? If they truly do get rid of valor/justice gear, getting alts up to speed will be a royal pain. I shudder to think how many weeks of LFR it would take to slowly get geared up enough to viably raid current normal/heroic raids.

Expect there to be mid-expansion dungeons this time; beyond that, we haven't had any concrete information on catch-up mechanisms yet. It's likely something we won't hear about until it becomes relevant.

MTA asked:

Maybe I'm just stupid but I can't seem to understand the difference in the three Rogue specs. I have a 90 Rogue and don't know the difference in the specs and what exactly they do. I chose Combat at start and have stayed with it. But what does Combat mean and how does it differ from other two specs?

Combat is sort of the swashbuckler spec for rogues -- you're in your enemy's face a lot, you have some survivability options, you're not necessarily reliant on stealth. Assassination is a bit sneakier and involves poisons and positioning. Subtlety focuses heavily on stealth and subterfuge.

april.eve asked:

Why is Garrosh not Sha-corrupted now? When we defeated him, we didn't really "purge" him or destroy the Heart, so why is he back to normal?

Garrosh drained the heart to fuel his attacks, then we beat the Sha out of him, literally. There's no more Y'Shaarj power to be had.

RossFale asked:

How do SoO Normal raid lockouts work? Say I join a pug earlier in the week and clear the first four bosses. Can I join any group that's start at boss five or later regardless of what the leader of the first raid ID does? Or is my personal progress locked to that raid ID? Furthermore, if I clear the first four bosses in the pug, can I start my own raid later on starting at boss five?

The reason I ask is that our 1-night group would like to start somewhere in Wing 2 or at the start of Wing 3---not on Thok, where we ended during our last raid. I'm wondering if there's a simple way to accomplish this.

You only get locked to a specific ID on heroic mode; any other mode, you can just pick up where you left off. The game remembers your progress and yours alone.
