The Queue: Return of the Mike

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

But I queue, but I queue-queue-queue~

MTA asked:

What's your opinion on the news that Alpha has been postponed? This is obviously bad for Blizzard but how do players view it? The more you wait the more you want it? Or is it "meh, lost interest"?

Well, as someone who genuinely likes WoW but is basically through playing until 6.0, obviously I'm sad I don't yet have access to an alpha or beta, but I get. Certain things need to be done to make the alpha worthwhile to open to the public. Blizzard is making me less and less confident that we're going to see the game go live before its "on or before" date, though.

Dream asked:

Have the winners of the signed War Crimes novel been chosen already, or does it take a little bit to compile all the names into whatever drawing format Wowinsider will use.

Winners were chosen and contacted. In the event one or both don't respond to us, we'll choose new ones.

Udderchaoz asked:

I am thourougly confused about something and I thought maybe you would be so kind as to shed some light on this issue as others may be confused as well. I have read three different stories on the coming of changes to valor... First I read that upgrades were being removed entirely in 6.0, and now im reading that they are adding more upgrades in 5.8. Are they still planning to remove upgrades in 6.0 or do the new upgrades in 5.8 indicated that the upgrade system is gonna stay around for a while? If they are removing it anyway this seems a bit counter productive to me. I enjoy valor upgrades and I hope to continue to have something to spend those points on at least up to a certain point in the xpac. Thanks!

The current incarnation of valor points is going away for WoD, but in the next patch, Blizzard is allowing you to upgrade your items with valor points again, up to 16 item levels higher. This option will go away when 6.0 launches. Valor points will still be around in WoD, but apparently their purpose hasn't yet been ironed out.

MandaPanda asked:

If I already ran SoO on flex difficulty, can I still get the legendary quest items in LFR?

You get one chance at the legendary quest items per week across all raid difficulties, so nope. Gotta wait until Tuesday again.
