NGames teases new Star Trek 'MMO'
We get all kinds of press releases here at the Massively office tower, some of them worth printing and some of them not. This latest one is pretty cryptic, since it neglects to nail down a title for the game it's hyping. Since the words Star Trek will probably fall somewhere in said title, though, we figured you'd want to know about it.
The game is purportedly an MMO, though to what extent publisher NGames doesn't say. In fact it doesn't say much of anything gameplay-related, though the title looks to be browser-based and set in Fluidic Space. "Combat plays a pivotal role," the press release mentions, with players needing to side with either the Klingons or the Federation. NGames says that it will "be revealing more information in the coming weeks."

Beam me up! New MMO based on the iconic sci-fi franchise takes the Federation and Klingons to the mysterious Fluidic Space
NGames, a leading online games publisher, is today excited to announce an all-new free-to-play Star Trek MMORPG coming soon to the Game321.com portal.
NGames is taking the Star Trek franchise into the mysterious Fluid Space, where great wonders and the powerful Species 8472 lay in wait. In the upcoming Star Trek game, players choose sides between the Federation and the Klingon and expand their influence through base building, exploration, technology and strategic fleet-based combat.
Fluidic Space
Ever since the USS Voyager returned and told tales of Fluidic Space, the Federation has tried and failed to return. All efforts were in vain, until an unexpected turn of events – a Galaxy-class explorer ship suddenly received a short message, informing them they were originally drew into Fluidic Space by an unstable wormhole. Better yet, the ship sending the message has built an outpost and stumbled upon a crystal of unlimited potential power.
Armed with the knowledge of how to enter Fluidic Space, the Federation immediately sent a reinforcement fleet filled with supplies, top researchers and trained combat forces to retrieve the ship. However the Klingons intercepted the Federation's information and sent ships of their own, sneaking into the wormhole entrance as it opened. The Federation and Klingons soon came face-to-face in Fluidic Space, sparking constant conflicts throughout exploration. As a result, war is on the verge of breaking out.
Even worse, a terrifying enemy is quietly lurking deep in Fludic Space, watching the Federation and Klingons – Species 8472, waiting for the perfect time to pounce on their new enemies with deadly force...
Beaming You Up!
Players must side with either the Federation or Klingons and join an all-out war as both sides fight each other, fend off invasions from Species 8472, and prepare for the many other untold threats of Fluidic Space.
Combat plays a pivotal role in Game321.com's upcoming Star Trek game. True to Star Trek, players build a variety of starships and create immense fleets to take into battle. Constitution-class, Defiant-class, the Bird of Prey and D7 starships are all available, as well as unprecedented super starships created with the help of brand new technologies. Fleets are essential for exploring deep space, defeating weird and wonderful monsters, attacking enemy planets and intercepting plunder ships. A good starship captain is a must!
