WRUP: Waiting for Warlords edition

With a few months still to go before Warlords of Draenor arrives, we're stuck in something of a WoW doldrums. Sure, we have plenty of time to catch up on our virtual to-do lists to get achievements we've never gotten or finish leveling yet another alt... but so close to the expansion, the question also remains: why bother? In a few months, the gear we've spent so long collecting will be replaced with new starting zone gear and only the memories (and the achievement points) of Pandaria will remain.

So it's no surprise that Team WoW Insider is doing a lot of stuff that doesn't involve playing WoW this weekend. So what is everyone playing? Read on to find out and be sure to chime in with what you're playing this weekend in the comments section.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend is going to be spent working, which seems to be a running theme as of late. If I do any game playing, it'll be on the beta! I'd still very much like to get Challenge Modes done, at least so I can get myself a phoenix before they go away, but between finding the time and finding a group, that is seeming less and less likely.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) I'm at Boston Calling at the moment but I'll be home with weekend to spare. When I get back I'm planning to try out boomkin and ele shaman on beta. My guild is in need of (better) ranged DPS and we already have too many priests... So I'm feeling out possible options for this expansion. Gasp.

Elizabeth Harper (@faience) A little work and a little WoW this weekend. I have a few projects to catch up on and then I plan on grinding away at some achievements. I'm close to the 100 mount achievement and I'd like to get my horde alt to 90 before Warlords hits.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I'm working, and my Xbox was destroyed by lightning. But I got a PS4, so yay! If I have a chance I'll be playing Diablo III (sorry, PC master race types, but I like it better there and my son likes to watch it) and Infamous: Second Son.

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) Desperately struggling to get this project done. No time for games. No time to get anything done before Warlords hits. Just working on this project. Forever.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) Not sure I'll be playing much of anything this weekend--the weather here is still nice and starting to cool off, so that means it's time to get in as many outdoorsy activities as possible before the rains set it and everything is miserable forever, or at least until the tulips start blooming in April. If I get some time to game I'd like to explore the Spires of Arak more in the Warlords beta, the Arakkoa storyline has been fascinating.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play

World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
