WRUP: Registered users, shmegistered users
Welcome back to What Are You Playing, the game in which we tell you what we're playing this weekend and you tell us why the industry still seems to think people are fooled by "registered users" numbers in a free-to-play world.
@ceruleangrey: I got a new tablet, so I'll probably be playing "how do I draw on one of these again" followed by some Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2. I really want to grab Taimi's electro dyes in GW2, but the ones I want are naturally the most expensive on the trading post.
@nbrianna/blog: Sooooooo I may have just purchased Diablo III's expansion while it was so very much on sale. Yes, I'm months behind. It was a wild summer! I am also eyeing Guild Wars 2 (as always) and ArcheAge. My guildies informed me we're rolling West on Tahyang. Please don't peekay us, Massively Minions!
@Eliot_Lefebvre/blog: I appear to be due to start an ill-advised project with my wife and a good friend, but I'm not sure if I'll be starting that this weekend or not. Otherwise, it's Final Fantasy XIV and Star Trek Online for me, with a bit of faffing about in WildStar and some single-player excursions as well.
@jefreahard: Playing some ArcheAge. In fact, 1,138 of those registered accounts are mine. Unfortunately for Trion, I'm only paying for one of them.
@Sypster/blog: I'm hoping a new graphics card will fix some computer issues I've been having, and if so, I expect to be diving head-first back into my new playthrough of The Secret World. I also have a lot of catching up to do in RIFT before the expansion hits and am guild shopping as well. Finally, WildStar. Because some of us actually do play it.
@Shaddoe/blog: My computer issues came to a head this week. However, I am able to restore nearly everything and will likely be back to srsgaming soon. Luckily Star Wars: The Old Republic has been spared in all of this tomfoolery, so I will attempt to run a metric tonne of operations this weekend for conquest points.
@MikedotFoster/blog: I'll be investing some time into Swordsman once the CMA polls close. Beyond that, I think I'll be spending most of the weekend outside; fall is here, and it would be a shame to waste it.
@MJ_Guthrie/blog: I have my diving helmet in ArcheAge now, so I am going to be doing some deep-sea stuff. Hopefully I will manage to get some fins as well. I also have a few long-term goals that involve so many gilda stars that I'll be trying to beef up my stash. In addition to that, thanks to some fun suggestions from viewers, I have plans for the next Landmark building contest: a high-rise danger version! That will need more materials, so I will be gathering and gathering. And with Halloween coming, I have got to spend more time in The Secret World just to soak in the perfect atmosphere and prepare myself. I can't wait for the new quests!
