Garrison Secrets, Easter Eggs and Hidden Surprises

Leave it to Blizzard to slip a few in-jokes into their new Garrison feature in Warlords of Draenor. From riffs on celebrity names to hidden caches of Garrison resources to a special bird that will make you the envy of all your RP friends, we've compiled a list of everything we've found so far.

First, of course, is Pepe, the bird that you can wear on your head. As outlined by our very own Anne Stickney earlier in the week, Pepe is a bird hiding in a tree in your Garrison. If you can get to him and click on his little feathered figure, he'll perch on your head for the next hour. Yes, even as your run the special 40-man Molten Core or hunt elites for desperately needed Garrison resources. And, in case you were curious, Pepe's secret origin has been published by his creator.

Next is Pippers the Pug. You've seen this little guy running about your Alliance Garrison barking and digging, but thankfully not smearing his lava-stained back end on your imported Dalaran rug. I'm looking at you, Molten Corgi... Instead he is burying Garrison resources for you to find. If you have a level 2 Garrison, look for small, clickable mounds of dirt behind your town hall and behind the outhouse. There are two other locations as well. Just follow him around to find them though you should note they do not respawn. Not sure if there is a Horde version of this. Anyone?

Speaking of the outhouse, you'll get a special achievement for using it. That's right, just click on the door of the Garrison latrine and you'll find yourself seated inside and receiving the Staying Regular achievement. Hit the forward movement key to walk out and, as a bonus, you'll get the Relieved buff which will grant you a 2% run speed increase for 5 minutes.

If you're looking for more hidden Garrison resources than little Pippers can hide, head to your fishing pond. Jump in the lake and swim into the cave you see in the back wall. You'll see a chest against the wall. Click it for some bonus resources and swim back out. Alliance peeps: if you see a gnome swimming around back there, click on him for some amusing dialogue as well.

Let's talk names. Famous musicians seems to be the theme for the Alliance Garrisons. If you have a Lumber Mill (and who doesn't to get the resources to upgrade your Garrison to level 3), you'll see the Foreman who you place work orders with is none other than Justin Timberlord. His dialogue even references his world famous band of musical lumberjacks, N' Swing.

For you, ahem, older players like myself, there is a lumberjack hanging around just outside the level 2 Alliance Garrison next to the cook named none other than Ken Loggin. You may be familiar with the musician Kenny Loggins, a soft rock superstar since the '70s who is probably best known these days for singing "Danger Zone" (recently revived for "Archer") and "Footloose." You may also recognize him as the DJ of Los Santos Rock Radio in Grand Theft Auto V.

Any hidden gems in your Garrison that I missed? What are the Horde Garrison easter eggs I've missed?
