Listen here now: 66 Horrifying Halloween songs

As the resident goth on staff, I have a reputation for enjoying the creepier side of things. Case in point: When my fella and I noticed that a house spider had taken up residence in our front hallway, we didn't kill it, put it in a cup and toss it outside, or light the house on fire and move to another country. We named it (Shelob, of course) and kept it as our "pet". Above our coffeemaker, a giant fake spider sits year-round; we've seen almost every zombie movie ever made (most recently Maggie); and our home office is adorned with multiple skulls and skeletons.

So it seemed fitting for me to pull together a list of several spooky, scary or downright unsettling songs for this weekend's Halloween festivities — because everyone deserves a Halloween playlist that has more creative options than "the Monster Mash" and "Somebody's Watching Me." Halloween isn't just funny; it should be as unsettling as these 66 weird, supernatural and creepy alternatives! (Full playlist available on Spotify):
