The NFL's streaming test of a London game between the Lions and Chiefs went rather smashingly last year, so it's planning on doing even more in 2016. The league will reportedly live-stream all three games scheduled for London next season and is talking with both Apple and Google about rights, according to Reuters. Last year's contest was carried by Yahoo, and marked the first time viewers could stream an NFL match of any kind for free. As a result, over 15.2 million viewers saw at least part of it, with 2.4 million watching at any given moment.

Yahoo was able to sell advertising slots to 30-plus companies for $100,000 to $200,000, so the league called the experiment a success. Neither Apple nor Google have ever aired live NFL events before, and winning the rights to the London contests would no doubt be a promotional coup for their respective Apple TV and YouTube services.
