5 New and Improved Android Apps for College Students

So this is it. You've finally arrived on your college campus. Maybe for the first time, maybe back again. Regardless, with smart phones being such a big part of our lives, it's important that you know how to best utilize your phone. In that spirit, here are five new and improved apps perfect for you.

Qubed

Well first of all, it's important to have something to do during that enormous, incredibly boring lecture class. Why not give yourself a break without compromising your brainpower with Qubed?

Qubed is "an intuitive and challenging puzzle game designed to test your brain." It makes use of puzzles that are simple in principle yet complex in detail to keep your mentally fit. It's a nice game to play when you only have a few minutes of time between needing to scribble down some notes, and can be played sequentially for longer periods, as well.

Smart Music Player

Of course, music is one of the primary requisites for getting through college. It can be used to socialize, to chill out, or to help you through a particularly difficult study session. This music app gives you free interchangeable and rotating MP3s, and lets you search online for the music you want. Not only this, but it gives you access to offline playlists, just in case the internet goes down.

Mobile Number Tracker

As we all know, the most important parts of college are making new friends (sometimes of a more intimate nature) and socializing with the old ones. This app helps you to search and track mobile number codes without any internet connection. It displays the local of the caller whenever your phone rings, so you can tell if it's a friend on campus, or some far-off telemarketing company. It also displays detailed operator information, which is simply better.

AnkiDroid

While you're listening to your music and after talking to your friends, you'll need to do homework. And of course, homework leads to memorization, and memorization can lead to headaches because — let's face facts here — it's hard!

Enter AnkiDroid! This highly-rated, newly re-released app allows you to learn flashcards efficient by showing them just before you would forget. It can hook up with the Anki software that you may have (or put) on your computer, and lets you study on the go. You can make your own decks, or download others for free!

Personal Trainer: Home Workout

Staying fit is an important part of college. Mens sana in corpora sano, and all that. And what better way to do this than with your very own personal trainer? But these can be a bit hard-to-find, as well as expensive. This app is the next best thing. It operates on your phone or smartwatch and, as it says, you "just select your workout and get moving!"

It provides videos for working out without equipment, and full-length workout videos for your viewing pleasure. It has a workout plan for every body type.
Of course, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of apps out there. We can hardly hope to cover all of them here. But hopefully this is enough to get you started as you head back to campus for your spring semester.

Have fun!
