How Technology Has Revamped The Good Old Everyday Gadgets

They say there's no need to re-invent a bike. However, most of us can't resist the attractiveness of a better, simpler or more powerful version of a gadget, which would fulfill our needs better.

Hence, each new trade and innovation show is stocked up with the revamped and reinvented versions 2.0. of the everyday things we use. Here's a quick selection of some of the most useful and curious of them.

PulseBlaze – Your Modern New Lighter

What can a lighter need except for well...lighting up? The team behind PulseBlaze surveyed the market and realized that the modern folks actually expect this simple gadget to have more powerful features, including water/wind resistance, easier re-charging, longer life span and so on.

Based on the feedback they've gotten, the company launched their signature product that not only lights up instantly (and saves you from sore thumbs), but can be used in any weather conditions, last much longer and can be recharged easily at home.

Sensorwake – The Fragrant Alarm Clock

Isn't it lovely to wake up to the smell of a freshly brewed coffee? However, that's rarely how single or busy folks start their mornings. Sensowake is here to fix that. This new kind of an alarm clock will diffuse the smell of your choice – coffee, money or mint – at the time when you need to wake up.

As the founders say the average wake-up time was now 2 minutes, and you can set up a backup melody after 3 minutes of emission if you are among the types, who like to snooze.

Smart Ski Airbag – Your New Skiing Friend

A lot of people quit skiing before even learning to ride properly due to all sorts of bumps and micro-traumas that happen in the process. Fret no more! Smart Ski Airbag is your bubbly new friend to keep you well protected. This attractive vest incorporates gyroscopic sensors, an accelerometer and a GPS to monitor your ride and keep you safe. It inflates automatically to protect your back, hips and insiders when a potential fall is detected.

LG Signature and Samsung's Family Hub – The Smartest Refrigerators Out There

In case you are looking for a new futuristic gadget for your kitchen, take a look at the new LG Signature fridge. The company managed to turn our large and grumpy kitchen friend into a rather sexy (and smart) product. The new fridge has two cool features:

  • The Knock-On Feature: tap on the door to reveal what's inside your fridge. The interior lights will turn off to show which foods you may have forgotten about.
  • Auto Door feature: Once you step close enough to the fridge, it will open the door for you. Perfect when you balance a huge platter with both hands. The fridge is also smart enough to ignore wandering pets or babies nearby.

Samsung Family Hub lures you with another set of cool features, equally ridiculously wonderful for the whole family. The fridge is equipped with a huge touchscreen in the front and spiced up with some useful apps and a camera to show your food stock.

One of the coolest apps is definitely "Groceries by Mastercard", which allows you to shop instantly from Fresh Direct or Shoprite using your fridge's door. Basically, it works like a huge phone app and syncs with a companion app on your phone.

There's another app for doodling notes, a family calendar, a timer, weather app and an app to control different sections of your fridge like temperature zones. The fridge also supports voice control and voice memos.

Another incredible feature is TV mirroring. If you have a Samsung TV on the same Wifi network, the app will mirror it on the fridge door. Also, you can play Pandora or TuneIn through the door embedded speakers.
