7 Things You Overlooked In IPhone 7

The newest iPhones have been unveiled and as always, they come with a number of features and improvements. While most are already familiar with the best features, let's take a closer look at some of the things that you may have overlooked in the iPhone 7.

IPhone 7

1. Portrait Mode Not Immediately Available

While the iPhone 7 comes with a 56mm telephoto lens that has the ability to capture photographs by using effects that are very similar to DSLR, iPhone 7 users will need to switch to Portrait Mode within the camera's app. There's only one problem: Portrait Mode is not going to be immediately available and those who purchase an iPhone 7 when they are first released are and users must wait for a later software update.

2. FaceTime Camera Upgrade

The iSight camera received an upgrade that got most of the fanfare during the iPhone 7 roll out, the front facing camera used for FaceTime has also been given a stronger resolution. Users who like to take selfies are able to capture more details.

3. Faster Modem

Thanks to LTE advances, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus offers users greater download speeds than ever before (450Mbps). This is three times faster than the original iPhone and 50 percent faster than the previously released iPhone 6. The phone also supports up to 25 different LTE bands throughout the world, so that there are no compatibility issues.

4. Hardware Home Button Replaced

The hardware home button that iPhone users have become accustomed to has been replaced with a capacitive home button. The new button uses the Taptic engine to stimulate the feeling of being pressed and vibrates over a much wider range. This simple innovation provides users with greater feedback.

5. Live Photos Improvements

When Apple first introduced Live Photos to their users, they were forced to use the stock camera app. Thanks to new innovations, iPhone users will not have that problem, as they are able to use OIS and capture all of the photos that they need, without all of the unnecessary shaking.

6. Stereo Speaker Changes

The speaker grilles might be located on the bottom of the phone, but the stereo speakers are not. The secondary grille is merely aesthetic and the secondary speaker is stashed inside of the earpiece hole, located at the top of the phone. According to Apple, these changes are designed to make the speakers louder and increase their dynamic range.

7. Case Needed For The Jet Black Model

The Jet Black color scheme on the new iPhone 7 is certainly enticing to users, as it is aesthetically appealing, but it will require the additional purchase of a case, as well. The Jet Black model is very susceptible to cracks and abrasion and will attract all kinds of fingerprint smudges, so Apple recommends purchasing a case to go with the phone.
