Experience tragedy above Earth in 'Adr1ft' next week on PS4

An Xbox store listing has it pegged for a September release on Microsoft's hardware.

Adr1ft, the allegorical game about surviving in orbit after a space-station accident, makes its way to PlayStation 4 next week. Previously it was available on VR platforms like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, so it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch that we'll see it land on PlayStation VR this fall as well. Not a PlayStation or PC owner? The Xbox store lists Adrift for a September 16th release date.

It's a bit odd that Xbox One is getting this game last, though. Considering that if it weren't for developer Adam Orth's Twitter freakout over the console's always-on design (he was creative director for Microsoft's gaming division then), the game would've never happened in the first place. At E3 last year, he told me that the game was therapeutic for him.

"I don't really think of it as a cathartic experience, but as more of a creative experience simply because about a week after the thing with Twitter happened, I knew what was going on," he said.
