Everything You Want to Know About Apple iPhone 7

New finish, new colors, no headphone jack, water and dust resistance, better camera all this and more in iPhone 7
All ears and eyes were at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco when Apple announced iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. All tech experts over the world have started analyzing the phone for good. Here's a rundown of all the features and specs of iPhone 7.

Water and Dust Proof

IP67 rating comes for both the models iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. So get them wet with no worries. You can take your phone along with you underwater for about 30 minutes or up to 1 meter depth.

Display

Nothing has much changed on this front. iPhone 7 maintains the same aluminium body as was there in 6s. Even the screen size 4.7-inch and resolution 1,334 X 750 pixels are the same. However, as per Apple the screen of iPhone 7 is 25 percent brighter than iPhone 6s. However, you can still feel the difference for iPhone 7 features a high gloss finish and mirror like pristine surface. There are no antenna bands on the top and bottom this time around. However, they are there on the bottom and top edges but barely visible.

Colors

Apple has launched five color variants in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, Jet Black and Matt Black. Jet black replaces Space Grey that was launched with previous models. However, Jet Black would only be available in 128 GB and 256 GB variants.

Internal Memory

Apple has this time gone ahead with 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. There are no 64 GB and 16 GB variants available. Also, quashing the rumors of 3 GB RAM, RAM is 2 GB as it was in iPhone 6s.

Camera

There isn't much change in the camera for iPhone 7. The camera bump is now more pronounced which many people might not like but that is due to a large sensor fitted in for amazing picture quality even in the low light. The rear camera is 12 MP with improved color reproduction. It features optical image stabilization, a wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture. There is a high speed sensor, which is 60 percent faster than ever before and is also 30 percent more energy efficient. For the professional photographers, editing photographs is now easy as the iPhone 7 now supports RAW image format for better control.
The front facing camera is now 7 MP boosted with light enhancement features to ensure good picture quality while taking selfies.

Battery

Apple claims that the new iPhone 7's battery will last two hours longer than iPhone 6 and approximately one hour longer than the 6s. The claims get boost from the new A10 Fusion chip that allows for low power consumption. Also, with the removal of the headphone jack, the extra space have been used to increase the battery capacity by 14%, providing more battery life to the phone.

Processor

The 64-bit quad core processor with A10 fusion chip is the most powerful processor until date. And, if Apple is to be believed it is around 40 percent faster than the previous A9 processor. Of the four cores, two cores are for high performance and the remaining two are for high efficiency. One could see 50 percent improvement in the graphics quality as well, according to Apple.

No more Headphone Jack

As anticipated, Apple has bid goodbye to the headphone jack. In place of it, you will find stereo speakers at the top and the bottom. You will however, need a lightning convertor or Bluetooth earbuds. The good news is, in the pack, you will find a pair of lightning air pods.
Launching the phone in 256 GB variant is a welcome move by Apple for you can now store anything and everything on the phone without being bothered about deleting something for making space for the other. So, all your videos, documents, images need not be transferred to other devices, just keep it there safe and secured.

Availability and Price

You can pre-order iPhone 7 now, the devices will officially be available from September 16. iOS 10 will come out three days prior i.e. September 13.
The prices for iPhone 7 starts from £599 for 32 GB, for 128 GB the price is £699 and you will have to pay £799 for 256 GB. It would be interesting to see how mobile operators across UK are going to bring iPhone 7 contract deals for the customers.

Early Verdict

Well, it won't be wrong to say that Apple has put old wine in a new bottle. It was the least expected given the dropped sales of the iPhone in the recent past. But nonetheless, the hopes are still alive and maybe we will see all the changes we wanted in the new iPhone 8 next year.
The new features as of now, iPhone 7 is water and dust resistant, 3.5 mm headphone jack has gone forever, high performance A10 fusion chip, upgraded screen that improves the overall quality. iPhone 7 is a glossy, smooth and performance oriented smartphone with all upgrades in some important areas.
