  • Love and PCs or was is a Macintosh?

My first true experience was during the 5th grade in 1993. We used to once a week go to our special computer class. This class was filled with 25-30 state of the art Macintosh computers. With their beautiful low definition green monitors and still one of the best clicks that came out of a mouse ever. When we arrived at class we would be assigned our computers and then begin our special "turning on" routine. Each station came with its special computer cover that to this day every time I uncover a barbeque it reminds me of these childhood memories. Then we would turn on the power to the cpu, then the monitor. The green monster was now alive!! ALIVE!!! After that we would insert our floppy and begin work. One of the first things we learned how to do on the computer, was how to create and save a file. Once we had that mastered the art of saving a file to a floppy we moved on to actual work. During a normal computer day, we would start off by playing a game called Munchers. In this game you would take the green "Muncher" and eat the correct answers. It was one of the first computer games I ever played. Then we would move onto typing lessons and sometimes work with the art program. I do wish I could find that disk and see some of my earliest computer work. Needless to say my Sega and SNES were far superior to a computer when it came to games. Maybe that's they PC gamers are so elitist now because their time finally came!!!
