  • Igor enjoys writing about all things AI — including the industry's two biggest players, OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • His many contributions as a tech reporter has provided him with the opportunity to interview executives like Jack Dorsey and take trips to San Francisco for events like Google I/O.
  • Outside of his AI reporting, Igor has extensively covered NASA's Artemis program and the Trump administration's efforts to cut the space agency's science funding. In his opinion, he's also written the definitive piece on why orbital data centers are a bad idea.

Experience

Igor has been writing about tech since he got his break at the Toronto Standard in 2012. While that outlet no longer exists, it gave him a chance to learn about the tech world from the perspective of Toronto's burgeoning startup community. The experience he gained interviewing founders eventually led him to MobileSyrup, Canada's largest tech blog, in 2015. Igor's work has also been featured in publications such as IGN, Android Authority and Lifewire. Since 2019, Igor has written for Engadget, fulfilling a lifelong dream to write for one of the most historic tech brands on the internet. As the site's AI reporter, he's now focused on growing Engadget and reporting on the harms and impacts of the growing industry.
