It was for a girl, that's all I remember.
Yep, that's me in 1998, or at least I think it was 1998. High school was in full force, and so were my hormones. I was the prime example of the nice guy who tended to find himself constantly in the friend zone. My parents finally decided to sign up with NetZero for internet access and I quickly found out that anyone who was anyone had an AIM. The following day in art class I was talking with a group of friends, who happened to be girls, about how excited I was to get home and install AIM. The conversation quickly turned to what my screen name would be. It was suggested that, since I was such a sweet guy, my screen name should be LoveGod. Well, obviously that name was taken so I had to add some numbers to the end and LoveGod became LoveGod821. I was so excited to tell the girl about my new screen name that I didn't consider how corny and desperate it seemed. Needless to say, there were quite a few laughs when I told the girls about my new chosen online identity. Also, I soon found out that other online users had a different perception. I noticed that I was getting a lot of messages from fellow users who were very religious. I was finally told by someone that they took my screen name as my way of expressing my love for God. I quickly decided that my once awesome screen name had quickly lost its luster and had to be changed.
