  • Thinking To Gift A Drone To Your Child ?

It is 2017 and many children are asking drone as a gift for their birthday or after achieving a good score in examinations. Small, unmanned aircraft that can be controlled are in the news every day, and since 2014, drone manufacturers have seen a huge surge in their turnover. Both boys and girls are apparently very eager to fly drones. Children and drones What to look for when buying a drone for kids? Are drones suitable for toddlers? Well, parental supervision is desirable and drones can be purchased for less than 200$. Some drones with cameras can reach speed of over 30 km/h. This can cause dangerous situations. Many parents see unmanned aircraft or quad copters as fun toys for children, but they forget that for example, can be very dangerous if a child at full speed hit it against an object, person or animal or bird. If the drone has a camera, the child can break the privacy of your neighbours. Before your son or daughter becomes a good pilot, they must spend hours of drone training in advance. Hubsan Micro X4 H107D Age Recommendation: 14 years and over. May be a little expensive gift for a child, however, the drone is very robust and of high quality. The Hubsan Chinese manufacturer has released several drones of the X4 series. The Micro X4 H107D and H107L are very popular in the Netherlands and Belgium. The H107D is equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera that shoots from the air with a resolution of 640x480. You also get a controller to control this drone. The drone must be charged for 30 minutes to get the average flying time of 8 minute. One can use an extra battery to increase the flight time of 16 minutes. W100S QR with camera Age Recommendation: 14 years and over This drone is made by the company Walkera based in China. The USP of this drone is that it can be connected to your smartphones and tablets. So you see exactly what your drone will see. Either you or your child will experience aerial view on phone or tablet screen once the drone is connected to it. This is called FPV flight. Parrot Rolling Spider with camera Suitable for the age 14 and over French manufacturer Parrot had launched Rolling Spider in 2014. This drone type quad copters falls into the product line of Mini Drones. It weighs only 0.55 kg. It can reach height of up to 20 metre. Maximum speed is 18 km/h and it can flip in the air. • How To Choose A Drone? Things You Should Know Before Buying A Drone

Many people recall the pleasures and dangers of drones, but what exactly are they: toys, or military devices? The reality is actually the mixture of all this because in fact a drone is only an evolution of the "aircraft radio-controlled." With the miniaturization of electronic components, we have achieved technological prowess (miniature camera, camcorder no bigger than a cigarette pack, etc.). Of course the army has actively participated in its development (very low radar echo, relatively silent, able to make on-site as long as its battery allows it, transport camera or even trigger weapons at the touch of a button of the remote control). We therefore have several categories of drone from the simple toy of a few centimetres to the military drone several tens of meters of scale but we will talk here about the amateurs wanting to film from above. How to choose a drone? Several criteria exist in order to choose a drone. We must already take into account the experience we have in the piloting of drone, the control commands (smartphone, tablet, remote control, etc.), and the age of the user. We must also see what use we want to make of it. You should know that not all drones are equipped in the same way. Some have cameras, while others do not have them. But we can buy back packs to install them on the drone. Which drone to choose? After defining its needs and selection criteria, it is necessary to see the budget that is set to buy one. Some people are willing to put significant sums in the product to access the high end, others prefer to buy a drone range a bit lower in order not to ruin. Again, it depends on the selection criteria. But it is necessary to know that the price of certain drones is sometimes different only for some technical characteristics. The autonomy of the battery for example is a determining factor for the price of drones. The quality of the camera on the drone also has a great importance on the price. Price of a drone Prices for drones vary greatly depending on the characteristics, and the type of use. We can find models at about 50 Euros. If you prefer to have a better and somewhat more reliable drone, you should expect to increase your budget. Drones can range from 50 Euros for the cheapest, to about 3,500 Euros or 4,000 Euros for the most expensive. However, for a hundred Euros, it is possible to find some very cool kids drones which you can gift to your child. Again, it depends on how you want to use it. Before buying any drone, do some research which will help finding cheap drones to you. It should also be noted that some drones are delivered in "RTF" (Ready To Fly), that means they are ready to be used when they are out of their box. It is important to check if the drone you want to buy is "RTF". If it is not, the user will have to buy a remote control compatible with the drone in order to control the machine without any problem. An extra remote control costs about a hundred Euros. Nevertheless, this remote control is often essential for the piloting. Firstly, it allows better manoeuvrability, but also additional functionality. The drone is able to transmit directly to the remote control the images and the videos that it performs, and the user can see in real time what the drone captures or records. This is the First Person View (FPV) system. Finally, some advice before the final decision: - Some drones have a fairly limited range, which is generally proportional to the size of the craft. Indeed, to be more stable, drones should not be too heavy. This is why they are generally equipped with a rather small battery, and therefore have a low self-sufficiency. So, if you want to practice longer, do not forget to buy extra batteries for your device. - Drones are not toys. They are regulated by legislation and require special permits to fly them in certain areas. - Avoid buying a drone in an unlicensed shop. In the event of a problem, it may be more difficult to operate the warranty. What drone to buy? For technical reasons and in order to make the best use of the product, it is preferable to choose a drone that approximates your requirements and that corresponds to your budget. One can find several models quite accessible and with good value for money. Many models are available on the market today. Most of them are designed especially for leisure. Here is a general selection of drones on the market.

  • Quiz: Can You Spot the Suspicious Email?

How would you react if you received an email that appeared to be from a top-level manager in your organization asking you to transfer money into an outside account? If you are considering this situation outside of the context of a typically busy work day, you might tell yourself that you would immediately recognize the request as a scam. Regrettably for the German wire and cable manufacturer, Leoni AG, its finance department employee did not have this insight, and promptly transferred 40 million Euro to the account coordinates listed in the email. The company has thus far been unable to recover the funds and its stock dropped 7 percent after the loss became public knowledge. "Whaling," in which a hacker poses as a company CEO to dupe lower level employees into taking actions or divulging information, is an increasingly common phishing scam. Other email scams promise recipients that they will receive money if they click on an embedded link or will threaten them with legal action if they don't immediately take some action. Recognizing an email message as suspicious is a function of detecting clues in the message that can range from obvious to hidden. Here's how to spot an email scam before it's too late: Does the message include a mismatched URL or a URL with a misleading domain name?Look at the last part of the URL domain name. A suspicious email will frequently use a legitimate corporate name on the left side of a domain, but the right side will be unrecognizable, or will have no relationship to the company's name. Does the text of the email include grammar or spelling errors? Email and other electronic communications are often keyed in quickly, resulting in simple errors. If a message is rife with errors or if it reflects weak grammar, look more closely at what the message is requesting. Multiple spelling and grammar errors are evidence of a scam. Does the message ask the recipient to click on an embedded link, or to take some other immediate action (such as replying with account information or other personal details)? Email that demands immediate action or that seeks any information should be treated with suspicion. Does the email purport to be from a government agency? Scammers have posed as IRS agents in email to threaten recipients with legal action or to promise unclaimed returns if the recipient clicks on a link or responds with personal account information. The IRS and other U.S. government agencies do not use email communications for these purposes. Is the content of the email message just too good to be true? A recipient's gut feeling that something about an email message is amiss is often a good sign that the email is suspicious. Educating employees and issuing precautions will only go so far in an organization. If, in spite of all of these warnings, an email recipient in an organization clicks on an embedded link or takes some action that is requested in an email, the organization (like Leoni AG) can lose millions of dollars and suffer long-term consequential losses. A cyber protection insurance policy can provide a source of recovery against these losses after all other defenses have failed. The FBI has announced that more than 22,000 companies have lost an aggregate of more $3 billion as a result of business email compromise scams. This averages to more than $136,000 per company, although many companies have lost substantially more than that amount in degradation of customer loyalty and tarnished reputations. Cyber protection insurance will not stop business email scams, but it will help a targeted company to get back on its feet more quickly after the attack has subsided.
