the DV6000 seems like a decent enough machine if you just really dont like buying from Apple...$1600 will get you about what the $2000 macbook pro (though you can't get a processor or graphics card as wuick as the MBPs) then again, for the extra $400, i'd much rather have a prettier, more stable machine that can not only run XP but also OS X. ...but that's just me.(This does remind me that Apple's laptop prices really aren't that terrible for what they offer)
