Lenovo takes their 3000 N100 to Core 2 Duo
While we wait for Apple to get their MacBook act together, a few more Core 2 Duo stragglers are wandering in, and this time it's Lenovo's N100 from their 3000 series getting the Merom boost. Beyond the processor goodies, which seem to encompass most of the Intel's offerings, the N100 boasts of an 802.11n MIMO WiFi option, your choice of a 14.1 or 15.4-inch widescreen LCD, and an option with the 15-inchers for an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 card running 64 or 128MB of memory. The 15-inch models also seem to have an option for a built-in webcam, but we're low on deets. Since Lenovo isn't telling us any different, we're guessing the screen res options match up with the previous offerings, along with the rest of the specs. We should be seeing these for sale any day now -- they're listed at the Lenovo site now, but one of the links is broken and some of the specs don't match -- and prices should start around $800.

"This Lenovo laptop looks awful, I like the way lenovo are making the laptops and computers. If say do it in same way, then they can be no.1."
I guess I'll be the first to say "huh?"
Excellent! I was going to get the core duo N100 for my birthday, so I'm hoping these new ones won't cost too much more, would love to have a 64bit lappy.
Now lets see them show the Thinkpad line some C2D love...
looks awful think for a moderatly spec'd laptop!
damn meant THICK, who is the think one now eh?
Seriously. Is it _that_ hard to put a DVI out on a notebook? Apple and a handful of others seem to be the only ones who can come up with this strange alien technology. (and Apple seems to be the only one that does it without making a tank laptop)
I don't think some of you understand the point behind the N100 range- currently they're probably the cheapest core duo lappies in the UK and still offer excellent build quality and features for the price. The fact that they're not the thinnist laptops is just an inevitable side-effect of their low price.
battery life?
yes, im sure it has battery life.
maybe they should just stick with a design that works...
um...it comes in black too rite?
I like how the businesswire article says "The N100 15.4-inch wide notebook PC also offers the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 with either 64Mbps or 128Mbps." I didn't know that video cards were rated in megabits per second. I thought it was 64MB or 128MB of video memory. I guess I was mistaken.
hmmm Im currently waiting on a t60p I wonder if it would be worth cancelling my order
t60p is top of the class..no other is comparable!
how come no dedicated GPU love for the 14"?
