Fujitsu LifeBook P7230 hits North America
Fujitsu's been teasing us with this one for a while now, first showing it off late last year without so much as a mention of specs or availability, then announcing that it's been released in Taiwan but giving no indication when we might be able to get our hands on one over here. Well, it looks like those looking for a little of that ultraportable action won't have to be going the importing route, with Fujitsu today announcing availability of the LifeBook P7230 in the U.S. and Canada. The specs, of course, remain the same, with a 10.6-inch LED-backlit widescreen display, Intel Core Solo U1400 low voltage processor, Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics, up to 2GB of RAM, a maximum 80GB hard drive, and a promised 9.75 hours of battery life with the second battery slotted in, all in a package that weighs in under three pounds. You'll also get your choice of "Leather Black" or "Leather White" color schemes, with prices starting at $1,699 for the base configuration.[Via Laptoping]

windows vista..... why dont they just make vista enabled computers silver with glowing apples on the back? that would be more fitting for this knockoff "revolutionary" software.
god bless the mac, and god bless america.
Anybody know how the Intel Core Solo U1400 processor is? And or how it compares to some of the dual cores out there? Trying to gage how its performance would be if I had this as my everyday computer. I’m really excited about the battery life, but worried about performance. I'm no gamer, but still.
windows vista..... why dont they just paint this laptop silver and put a glowing apple on the back. then they can stop pretending to have a "unique and revolutionary" operating system, and just be what they are shamelessly imitating......
god bless america, and god bless macs
And Fujitsu limits the external display support to only 1600x1200 AGAIN.
What are they thinking in this day and age of $600 24" Dell monitors????
angelsvairwaves1 why don't we just paint you silver and slap an apple logo on your forehead, and then you can be what you want to be
a mac fanboy
Last time I checked, Apple hasn't put out a 10.6inch LED-backlit notebook.
Damn, I love my P7120 and I would have upgraded almost certainly but it seems Fujitsu changed a few things:
- One less USB port (2 instead of 3!)
- No more S-Video out?
- It has a lot more venting holes, does that mean it has fans? That's one thing I love about P7120 - how silent it is without fans!

you can get additional 3 USB slots , an S-Video with the replicator port it comes with. And I don't think it has a fan yet.
