While the
unlicensed version of Porsche's mobile handset still holds a special place in our hearts, it looks like the Porsche Design Mobile Group finally took it upon themselves to join the growing fray and introduce its own co-branded device. The group has already slapped the luxurious logo on a
sat nav device as well as a
portable XM radio, but Stephane Bret (the group's director) was caught showing off a new mobile in Essen. Unfortunately, details on the phone are all but nil, but we do know that the P'9521 was unveiled at the Red Dot Design Museum and will rock a squarish flip-phone design, integrated camera, and multimedia player. No word just yet on when (or if, actually) this sure-to-be-overpriced handset will hit store shelves, but we can't help but notice that a few formidable
opponents are quite a few
laps ahead at this point. Click on through for a few more shots.
Meh...
Only a square would buy this. You're not a square, are you?
It's sad when you can't even spell correctly in the title of your post.
Aston Martin & Nokia teamed up for a phone too...but at least this Porsche Design seems more focused on design, rather than their affiliation with the car manufacturer. Plus, it's sexy. Which is nice.
Handhset?
2007 will go down in tech history as the year screen smudges from face and hand oil become mainstream. Sure its been a problem in the past but with all the various black screens out there now its going to show up like a back sports car driving through a freshly salted road.
Porsche Design know how to design one thing and one thing only. Cars. Nothing worth looking at has ever come out of that studio as far as consumer electronics go. Including this phone. Yawn. Maybe 8 years ago.
Nice iPhone-like shot of phone in hand! The Cryptkeeper's hand...
lighters are nice, i own one. but electronics are a little more complicated porche

"This thing is heavy. It hurts my face. Boy, I really hates it."
Porsche, can you please spare us all these trouble.
You scored a low on this one.I love your 911s,Carrera and Cayenne no doubt but not this one.Concentrate on what you know best.
What a dull dull dull looking piece of apparently 'high design'.
It already looks at least 5 yrs old - (actually a 5 year old would probably appreciate the toy like aesthetic).
And that interface?!? A Porsche font??? So tierd. So lame.
Give it up Stuttgart. You've ruined your cars, leave product design to the Danes.
Porsche Design has nothing to do with the automaker-Porsche. They are totally different companies that only share a name.
I like the design. Ok, I have to because I've designed a pretty similar (ok, mine was in an iPhone like format) phone several months ago. Hm...
How much for this little toy?
