iPods Still Suck.
Cowon ftw!
Bauer22 @ Sep 4th 2007 3:27PM
See now was that comment necessary? I swear every time there's a Apple post everyone starts picking sides and goes to war.
JohnTitor @ Sep 4th 2007 3:35PM
the only sides are right and wrong
hello @ Sep 4th 2007 4:21PM
and LEFT!
Sunjay @ Sep 4th 2007 5:27PM
iPods are ok although I would love a number of changes and updates to iTunes...
supermeerkat @ Sep 4th 2007 5:45PM
I like iPod sexy time very much!
PK @ Sep 4th 2007 6:23PM
I gotta say - whether or not you like Apple - you've gotta admit that their marketing/PR team has masterfully used the last year to overwhelm their other competitors' attempts at buzz. Almost every month Apple seems to grab the spotlight, with hype building before, during, and after each major product release:
January: iPhone intro, Apple TV details, Leopard preview, iPod shuffle colors
March: Apple TV release, reviews, initial updates, hacks
May: iTunes Plus
June: first 3 weeks - iPhone hype, last week - day by day releases of new iPhone info, iPhone release
July: iPhone reviews, initial web apps, and hacks
August: iPhone updates, new iMacs, Mac Mini update, iLife '08, iWork '08
September: new iPods , new iPhone features
October: Leopard release
November - December?
Omar Jasso @ Sep 5th 2007 11:21AM
Is this Kris Swanson?
carlos @ Sep 4th 2007 3:25PM
I'm wet with anticipation!
No ... really. I am.

PHONELESS IPHONE
lawl...
Dias @ Sep 4th 2007 3:35PM
I hope so, iPhone without Phone with wireless/youtube functionality would be nice, but I guess it will seriously damage iPhone sales since very few people like iPhone as a phone.
Josh @ Sep 4th 2007 3:27PM
Just give me a ipod with a touch screen and a wifi browser and I'm sold. I don't think thats to much to ask.
White_Pheonix @ Sep 4th 2007 4:16PM
An iPhone with more storage, you mean?
Brian @ Sep 4th 2007 3:29PM
Prediction: Announcement that the iphone will now support Palm's Foleo. Apple fanboys flock to buy Foleo.
Bauer22 @ Sep 4th 2007 3:33PM
Hey thats the only way there gonna sell them things!
L @ Sep 4th 2007 3:53PM
LOL...that and nothing else.
2011: Apple and Palm take over the world in storm, Southern America is renamed to Treo Country, Europe becomes iContinent. Only Asia is still fighting a futile war against the combined powers of Apple-Zealots and Palm-Fanatics...
Well, I better start to hope for Aliens to wipe out mankind in that case.
Eric @ Sep 4th 2007 5:24PM
Oops, Foleo is dead.
RIP Pal...er...Folio.
Luke @ Sep 4th 2007 3:29PM
Grrrr. CAN'T WAIT! Just love that feeling when you refresh the page and get the answers!
:P

I wan't to buy a new IPOD!
Steve Jobs is the new Bill Gates.
Nick Bee @ Sep 4th 2007 4:21PM
Why did you put an apostrophe in want?
Colin B @ Sep 4th 2007 4:54PM
seriously, i actually tried to rub the speck of dirt off my screen...only to find it actually was an apostrophe. yet again, grammar misused.
Oddjob @ Sep 4th 2007 9:34PM
Actually, it's punctuation misused.
Caleb Andrews @ Sep 4th 2007 3:32PM
Tired of Apple? Pft, never...
spyyder @ Sep 4th 2007 3:34PM
iPod Touch.
WiFi and Bluetooth.
Overair purchases.
Brand new interface.
G @ Sep 4th 2007 3:34PM
Tomorrow is the day when I choose to finally buy a new ipod. I have had the old U2 version for quite a while and it still rocks. But I have been waiting for "The" ipod that I have been hearing from all the speculators. Its not only a music or video player. We all have to agree, this is it. This is "THE" ipod everyone NEEDS.
Xzavier @ Sep 4th 2007 3:56PM
I sure would LOVE to see your face if Apple is just performing maintenance on their website tomorrow at those times!
Fron :D to :(
Chris @ Sep 4th 2007 7:28PM
And I'd love to see your face if just after that if a tornado hit your house. From :D to :O
Xzavier @ Sep 5th 2007 10:37AM
Whatever Chris...
From an Apple event to a tornado? Whatever...
Bizk1d1 @ Sep 4th 2007 3:40PM
maybe they will announce a date for europe release aka UK?
David Hildreth @ Sep 4th 2007 3:40PM
That's 10am for us in GMT -7 Arizona
Eric Schaefer @ Sep 4th 2007 3:40PM
Buttons... Lots of buttons!!! Buttons everywhere!!!
Syliss @ Sep 4th 2007 3:45PM
I still dont have an ipod, touch screen would be nice, wifi better too, almost make it a tablet, i just wonder about price, and im wishing for more codecs (i know its useless).
js @ Sep 4th 2007 3:46PM
But... there is one more thing....
Xzavier @ Sep 4th 2007 3:47PM
Maybe a looong overdue 12 inch MacBook Pro or an ultra lightweight MacBook? Nah... can't be. If it were there would be TONS of hype!
But Hey... you never can tell!
:D
coffee @ Sep 4th 2007 3:48PM
first comparison of new iPod to existing touchscreen mp3 player that does it all first and better: 10:04am PDT
I'd like to see a 64gb touch iPod with a solid state 1.8" drive, even if it was expensive.
Chris @ Sep 4th 2007 6:28PM
doubt it, 64 Gigs, that's not even a number divisable by 10, so there not gonna do it, 100 yes, in fact one day, we'll see the 10th gen iPod with a
1 Terabyte of memory, but 64? C'Mon man.
Tom @ Sep 4th 2007 7:31PM
Chris,
Do you not know what solid state memory is? Or did you simply neglect to read "solid state".
Anyway, we are NOT GETTING A SOLID STATE IPOD TOUCH. The Nano maxes out at 8gb and is crazy expensive - Like anybody would be able to afford a $1k iPod with 8 times the storage of the Nano. We're getting a hard drive, folks.
coffee @ Sep 4th 2007 8:08PM
chris,
solid state disks are different. try reading a bit before commenting. "c'mon man"
Josh @ Sep 4th 2007 3:48PM
Please don't let it be too complicated! I'm getting my mother one for her birthday in November, and she only needs to be able to play music....looks like a shuffle for her, then!
Sy @ Sep 4th 2007 3:49PM
The iPod is heading towards a fully functional pocket computer with Mac OS X Light.
Sy @ Sep 4th 2007 3:50PM
Lite rather. :)
Kamokazi @ Sep 4th 2007 4:34PM
iPod Newton anyone?
Jason Brennan @ Sep 4th 2007 5:34PM
They already have them! iPhones! I mean that, seriously. Even being a poweruser, the iPhone satisfies about 75% of all my computer needs...internet browsing, email, music/movies (plus with sites like meebo, I've got MSN/AIM)... I mean no it's notthe fastest machine in the world and its got a small screen (relative to my desktop) but holy crap it's probably the most impressive computer I've ever used!
I was downtown in a new city a few weeks ago, just got off the bus, had no idea how to get to my hotel. Hopped on wifi, used google maps, found it, got directions, walked right to my hotel! Do you have ANY idea how handy that is? Try doing that with my MacBook Pro. Well I guess I could, but it's not as handy as the iPhone. It's truly incredible.
Brad @ Sep 4th 2007 11:20PM
You know, you could have done everything you just described with a $100 windows mobile device. But that's okay, apple is amazing and revolutionary and all that, especially for "power users"
Oh, except you could have installed applications to do it and not hoped for free WiFi or been locked into what is probably the worst data network on the planet.
Want to SSH into a remote server and restart a daemon process? Not really a "feature" of the iPhone, but I'm no poweruser so what do I know...
Mark H @ Sep 5th 2007 9:07PM
A $50 nokia can do google maps as well :p
webprgmr15 @ Sep 5th 2007 7:07PM
To iPhone H8rs,
I installed terminal, apache, python, ruby, pearl, and ssh2 on my iPhone without a single problem. I also setup a scp server and sshd so I can remote into my phone or use it to remote into my pc. I also have some command line apps like netcat, wget, ect...
If you want to go and buy a $100 windows mobile device without a accelerometer, hardware ready multi-touch, wifi AND a wireless data network, a considerably powerful video processor, and a comfortably sized hardisk; then go ahead, but it doesn't take a fanboy to see the power the iPhone has.
Jake @ Sep 4th 2007 3:49PM
Dear Mr. Jobs:
I have never owned an iPod, nor wanted one. I've generally considered them over priced and pretentious (and I'm a white yuppie).
However, if you announce movie rentals and release a widescreen iPod (hard-drive preferred to flash) with wifi in the iPhone form-factor, I will buy it same day. Yes, I will put my money where my mouth is.
[fingers crossed]
Patrick @ Sep 4th 2007 10:25PM
I'm with you Jake. Well maybe not same day, but still. Up until now I haven't needed a $300 music player, and why watch a movie on an iPod when you can do it on a PSP that looks much nicer?
If only it had Divx\Xvid playback, then I'd buy it same day.
