I gotta say - whether or not you like Apple - you've gotta admit that their marketing/PR team has masterfully used the last year to overwhelm their other competitors' attempts at buzz. Almost every month Apple seems to grab the spotlight, with hype building before, during, and after each major product release:
January: iPhone intro, Apple TV details, Leopard preview, iPod shuffle colors
March: Apple TV release, reviews, initial updates, hacks
May: iTunes Plus
June: first 3 weeks - iPhone hype, last week - day by day releases of new iPhone info, iPhone release
July: iPhone reviews, initial web apps, and hacks
August: iPhone updates, new iMacs, Mac Mini update, iLife '08, iWork '08
September: new iPods , new iPhone features
October: Leopard release
November - December?

I hope so, iPhone without Phone with wireless/youtube functionality would be nice, but I guess it will seriously damage iPhone sales since very few people like iPhone as a phone.
Just give me a ipod with a touch screen and a wifi browser and I'm sold. I don't think thats to much to ask.

Tomorrow is the day when I choose to finally buy a new ipod. I have had the old U2 version for quite a while and it still rocks. But I have been waiting for "The" ipod that I have been hearing from all the speculators. Its not only a music or video player. We all have to agree, this is it. This is "THE" ipod everyone NEEDS.
I sure would LOVE to see your face if Apple is just performing maintenance on their website tomorrow at those times!

I still dont have an ipod, touch screen would be nice, wifi better too, almost make it a tablet, i just wonder about price, and im wishing for more codecs (i know its useless).
But... there is one more thing....
Maybe a looong overdue 12 inch MacBook Pro or an ultra lightweight MacBook? Nah... can't be. If it were there would be TONS of hype!

I'd like to see a 64gb touch iPod with a solid state 1.8" drive, even if it was expensive.
doubt it, 64 Gigs, that's not even a number divisable by 10, so there not gonna do it, 100 yes, in fact one day, we'll see the 10th gen iPod with a
1 Terabyte of memory, but 64? C'Mon man.

Do you not know what solid state memory is? Or did you simply neglect to read "solid state".
Anyway, we are NOT GETTING A SOLID STATE IPOD TOUCH. The Nano maxes out at 8gb and is crazy expensive - Like anybody would be able to afford a $1k iPod with 8 times the storage of the Nano. We're getting a hard drive, folks.

Please don't let it be too complicated! I'm getting my mother one for her birthday in November, and she only needs to be able to play music....looks like a shuffle for her, then!
A phoneless iPhone may cannibalize the iPhone sales but I don't think that it's much of a concern for apple. I'm sure they are happy if the only decision the consumer has to make is "Which Apple product should I buy?" Besides, a product like the iPhone will have a short sale cycle anyway.
My prediction: Phoneless iPhone (OS X) w/ wifi and HDD, alongside the introduction of itunes integration for over-the-air and wifi downloads.
My Concerns: I'd much rather have 16 or 32 GB of flash memory instead of 80 or 160 GB of HDD. I think it's going to be expensive, maybe $449 entry?
Apple can make the coolest player on the planet but it's useless to me without a music subscription service.
I have 23 Gb of music on my iPod and I have never purchased from iTunes or anywhere else. So explain to me how my iPod is useless?

Lol, maybe you should re-read the statement you are replying to. He didn't say anything about your ipod, he was talking about it being useless to him not you.
He probably has a music subscription service instead of pirating music like you said that you do, and I quote again: "never purchased from iTunes or anywhere else."
he didnt say he pirated it, i have 180 GB of music in my library and nothing is pirated, it's all ripped by me at 320
