It's slated
for November 7th release for release before the holidays, but we can never make guarantees for any company to hit it's ship date, ok?
any news of this guy actually coming out? or more concrete specs?
its getting pretty close to November 7th..
Any reason why this couldn't just be an image of the m1330? It looks the same. Doesn't it? Dell has been super quiet and there is no other confirmation of it?
They look slightly different. For example you can compare the USBs on the sides of the laptops of which the m1330 has two and the m1530 has three. The m1530 also has something that looks like a mouse-in-port on the right side, the m1330 has nothing like that. You can also compare the length of the dvd-drive with the total lenght of the computer and see the difference.
All we need now is an offical statement from Dell.:)
I have heard a release date of November 23rd.. can anyone confirm?
Ah. thanks .. that makes sense... This is definitely on my shopping list... glad I ended up canceling my m1330 order
It's an S-video out by the looks of it.
Yeah, I later saw that. :P
Is there any update from the M1530 front??? I have put on hold buying a laptop at the moment waiting for an announcement...
No update on the release date, but apparently you can already buy extra memory for it...

Maybe they will sell it in pieces...
where are the updates? shouldn't this be announced already !!!
Two words: How much?
I have heard a release date of November 23rd.. can anyone confirm?
Where did you hear november 23rd?
Have a look at http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/xpsnb_m1530?c=se&cs=sedhs1&l=sv&s=dhs
It's in swedish and doesn't say anything special, just that it is sophisticated, larger than m1330, was built with form and weight i mind etc.
I heard from a dell rep at a dell kiosk... obviously he was full of it
From what I've been told by my superiors at the Dell kiosk I work at, it was supposed to come out by the 23rd. No word on why it didn't. The official release date is "very soon", as in "it will definitely be shipping in time for Christmas". It's supposed to be about 1 inch thick and weigh about 5.5 pounds. No word on price, but the starting price shouldn't be much higher than the m1330 (probably around $1300 without the blu-ray drive, but that's just my guess, don't quote me on it). It's supposed to have a lot more in common with the m1210 and m1330 than the m1710 and m1730 and won't be marketed as a "gamer notebook" at a ridiculous price.
The m1330 is NOT going away anytime soon, the m1530 is only there to fill a void because lots of people have been asking for a 15" XPS. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "I love the m1330, but if only it was a bit larger...". It's an addition to the line-up, not a replacement for anything. The m1330 is a great laptop and is very popular, Dell would be stupid to get rid of it at this point in time.
I completed my order for the m1530 yesterday. It's supposed to ship on the 19th. I have however, just e-mailed my sales rep. as he indicated that the fingerprint reader, that is advertised as standard equipment on Dell's site, is NOT available on the 1530 ???? I have copied/pasted the info. from the site and E-mailed it to him, we'll see what he says.
I have the xps 1530. I just love it... OMG it is awesome.....
