This is a great idea. It just depends on network availability and speeds. If it can hold water in those two areas its a good thing to have it pre installed. I hate the fact that your locked into a single company. This "hardware" should let you access any service like this from any provider. Its kind of a waste of space if you dont intend on using sprint. But, I still think its a good option for someone that has predetermined they are going to use the Sprint service.
