Meizu M8 MiniOne to debut at CES in January?
Listen fellas, are you sure you want to venture onto US soil with this thing? Compared to Meizu's native China, the US is a haven for intellectual property protection -- and as far as we're concerned, not a single tweak done to the M8's design since its intro has ventured far enough from the iPhone to keep Apple's sharks lawyers from circling. Nevertheless, Chinese site CNMO reports that the M8 could make its first real, actual public appearance (as opposed to the countless renderings and dummies the company has produced so far) in Sin City itself as part of the CES festivities in early January with retail availability as early as February. That would put us just shy of a full year since the M8 was announced, and probably just weeks (if not days) before Apple gets an injunction against sales here. Just a guess.

There are only so many styles a phone can have. Does this mean a style dictates the limitation to what a phone will look like in the future? Give me a break! Apple and American retailers are just upset that the Meizu is bringing so much technology (which North American networking infrastructure is not ready for) in this little device. It's future ready. The reality is that American retailers want to sell you inferior products in order to slowly introduce better stuff later so you will get milked for more cash when you "need" to upgrade. Simply put, on paper, this thing blows the iPhone away. If Apple really stands behind its products, it would not have to worry about the M8. What are they so afraid of...a little competition? Isn't that the capitalist way? Oh, yea. They have to think of something better. Oh but wait! Isn't that the capitalist way? Fueling inovation through competition? The US is a pseudo capitalist democracy!!!
If it has 3G, HSDPA and a 3.2MP camera, it will be a winner
I only imagine the only way this ending up in the US is either through Ebay or other sites that sell imported electronics.
Sure. For $1,000.00.
Not a bad deal when unlocked iPhones sell for $1400-odd in Germany.
wtf? that girl is Apnea from lithiumpicnic.com - i'm pretty sure that's another copyright violation, not that Meizu cares
It's fan art, not something that Meizu themselves produced.
So, no, Meizu haven't broken any copyrights to do with the picture.
The image is also stolen from Lithium Picnic. Grats.
Meizu has nothing to worry about when it comes to copyright infringements. Take a look as Samsung, I would categorize them as the world leaders in stealing other companies winning designs such as the samsung blackjack. By the time a case like this goes to court "if ever", trial hearings and verdict, Meizu will have already sold millions of devices. The worst that can happen is that they can be ordered to cease selling the device which by the that time they would have moved on to several other mobile devices anyway.
