Dell snaps Penryn chips into Precision M6300, X9000 included
As the Penryn updates slow to a trickle, Dell is looking out for one remaining straggler by updating the potent Precision M6300 workstation. Starting today, users can select either the 2.6GHz T9500 Core 2 Duo or the drool-worthy 2.8GHz X9000 Core 2 Extreme, but curiously enough, only the T9500 is listed as an option ($370 upgrade over the base T7500) when entering the US configuration site. Nevertheless, we reckon Dell will have that sorted soon enough, and while you're ordering, why not indulge in the 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600M, too? It's only an extra $699, after all.[Via Electronista]

Now if only dell would add the penryn to the XPS M1530 i would finally order one and be happy.
I don't think your happiness should not be contingent upon finally getting a Dell with a Penryn processor. Trust me, there's plenty of better things that lead to happiness.
right. Like not getting a dell
@austin: Saw that coming from a mile away.
Its like you suprising someone with a snowball but pitching it in slow motion. At some point, you just drop it and move on.
Bashing Dell is about as funny/worthwhile as bashing Microsoft. Just because someone is #1, doesn't mean they turn out a bad product. Dell puts out some awesome gaming/business/home computing products. There's no way to legitimately deny that.
I'm with you, Todd - I'm not sure why Dell doesnt get these new processors in what they call their "Premium 15" notebook".
Now if they would only slap the option for the x9000 into the 1730 conf, I would order one. It's been "coming soon" for a month now.
And as if they herd me, the x9000 option is up for the 1730.
Who cares, theres still no penryn on the 1530. This is almost as disappointing as the macbook update.
Well, I suppose you COULD order one and wait until March 27th for it to ship (preliminary ship date of course)...
...but WHY??
