Kohjinsha SC3 convertible UMPC gets unboxed on video

It's getting to be a bit hard to keep track of Kohjinsha's various UMPCs and UMPC-like devices these days, but the folks at WOW-POW have gotten their hands on one unit we haven't yet seen, and they've naturally unboxed it before the cameras for your pleasure. From the looks of it, this new SC3 model appears to be a slightly smaller version of the company's SX series of convertible tablets, with this one packing a 7-inch display in place of a 9-incher, along with the same 1.3GHz Atom processor, 60GB hard drive, and 1GB of RAM as its larger counterpart -- no optical drive here though, as you might have guessed. Head on past the break for the video.

NICE
That guy has huge hands....
Chubby hands are not meant for such a small keyboard.
man, if this had a CF slot, I would heart it so much.
$1000????
no thanks!
i just scored a nice thin Sharp mm10 laptop from ebay for $300. i was tired of waiting for the Wind. and i might get that Dell mini whenever that comes out.
define "nice." :)
i went to kabatek.com and this laptop is $1000.
lovely hand
$1000? no... i will pay $500 for it without vista.
I'd buy this just to get the chicks to go home with me. Otherwise, I'd be happy with an Aspire One.
"come with softcase"
"computer is from japan"
"intruction book has lots of pictures"
"this things is small and light"
Reminds me of http://www.illmitch.com
This board is fast and danger!
I love these little UMPC's...only problem is they are expensive and finding the perfect one out of the bunch is tough when so many come out.
-Remove vista
-add linux instead
-give it minimum 2gb storage
-keep resolution
-give it a ATOM or fast Celeron
-include wifi G
and uv got the perfect tablet multimedia device and cheap. can be used as a remote or media center device or for HT-EVERYTHING.
Did you even watch the video?
-Has Atom processor.
-Has WiFi
-Has over 2gb of storage
read the article man.
Vista is much better for tablets. Great handwriting recognition. It could use another GB of ram but it looks nice.
the tablet feature is nice, but the acer aspire one is cheap enough that you can upgrade it to full specs(6-cell battery, 1.5G ram, 16G SDHC card) and its total cost is still cheaper then the eee 901. and i just wonder how long it'll take someone to mod the aspire one (linux version) with a touchscreen?
i read the article. What i was trying to say is only add these features and elimante EVERYTHING ELSE to keep cost down. It doesnt need to be a full laptop or netbook whatever they call it.
less then a netbook but more then a just a pocketPC.
They already do that to make netbooks. There's like 7000 variants by now.
This is a UMPC/tablet thingy. It's got a different target market.
You can run Vista on a 1.3 GHz Atom and 1 GB of RAM? Why don't they put / offer xp pro instead?
Thanks but I'll wait for the Gigabyte M912V http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/05/gigabyte-gets-official-with-8-9-inch-m912v-swivel-screen-netbook/
Too bad it's a fingerprint magnet and runs VHP.
How about a asus 901 with touchscreen mod for half the price?
