New images point at Atom-based ASUS Eee PC 900A
Whoa, wait a second. Is ASUS about to plop another Eee PC onto the totally numb-to-this-brand public? As confident as we are that ASUS wouldn't dare hesitate to dilute its once meaningful Eee moniker even further, we're still taking this with a morsel or two of salt for now. Spotted on French site Blogeee, a host of new images depict the Eee PC 900 (with a design occasionally preferred over the 901) with an "A" bringing up the rear. It doesn't take an Intel engineer to guess what that might mean, now does it?

Meaning...?
Are you implying the wider choice in models would have diluted your enjoyment of the product? Or that you read they'd be improving on the 701 in future months?
I should have bought one when NewEgg was giving away 4 for the price of one!
Ah I digress.
Why would I buy this over the current 901? One advantage is it has a slightly smaller footprint than the 901.
We need to know what the price is compared to the 901 of course.
And I hear later in the year, we'll see higher end more expensive EEEs with 16:9 screens.
I look forward to a new release from Asus every week. It's like a tv show series. Fun & exciting. Keep them coming Asus!
EEEgads!
Are Engadget sponsored by Asus and this bloody Eeeeee PC?
Nope, thats Apple.
Haven't informed consumers caught on that they should avoid the Atom by now? I guess it's handy if you can do that easier though if it's clearly labelled with the a of 'avoid'
"The machine we all just called the Eee PC before ASUS booted out an insane array of lightly-differentiated models with a somewhat random naming scheme?"
So the last post about an eeepc (not including the eeebox post) the above was said. It goes from being a somewhat random naming scheme to knowing what the name of this new model means before we know anything else about it. Have you wised up that it's not random at all in between?
Seriously stfu about the diluting crap, it's getting boring now. They're diluting the brand as much as any other laptop maker dilutes theirs except that this is a new category of laptop so it's more understandable that there's more products to fill more gaps.
Go go go! Road to 23 models! Orz
Waiting for news from Dell on the Mini Inspirion.
Only the $299 8.9" Dell E could stop this flood of low-speced over-priced Eee's.
Isn't it supposed to launch in this month?
There are more models of Eee than:
Versions of Vista
Sequels to Friday the 13th
iPhone posts on Engadget
Chuck Norris jokes
etc
When you see the Eee, drink!
In America, you get the laptop.
In Eee world, the laptop gets you!
