A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Wait wait wait.. Have we confirmed that older Zunes will be getting these features...?!
lol
It's kinda' obvious.
The "Device to Cloud" feature is this supposed to be the Live Mesh integration with Zune? I think so.
So can I wirelessly transfer porn or what?
Yes, you'll be able to wirelessly transfer your porn pictures to your friends!
Thats it? An incremental update to existing services within it's own unpopular ecosystem. This update is disappointing. Instead of spending a year to develop true innovative features all MS does is tweak the extensionable capabilities of their Zune marketplace. Which is another blatant "me too" product from MS. All this limited buzz will be drowned out by Apple with their new innovative products.

"The biggest failure of all is the "me too" ultimate copycat MP3 player. Zune and its Marketplace."
Quit spamming every Microsoft-related post with your bullshit. And get a life. Do you have a holy war against Microsoft or something? Or your head is simply too far up Steve Jobs' ass?
Dude, jpw21683, he's so full of bullshit. It's impossible to stop. However, I find it hilarious and have since bookmarked his profile page so I can get a quick laugh.
He's the epitome of Apple fanboys.
"He's the epitome of Apple fanboys."
Astounding. I am simple amazed that ZG actually used such a phrase. Typical replies from ZG are usually childish insults, vulgar language and suggestive sexual comments.
Yet ZG actually took a page from my own post and used it.
On second thought, it is of no wonder that ZG is incapable of understanding what true innovation is.
Copying from my own post, just like the biggest "me too" company that produces Zunes, is right out of their playbook.
Bravo ZG. Thank you for behaving exactly as your much beloved Zune copycat creators.
Back to topic.
A cursory glance of early headlines within the net shows that this announcement will quickly die and be forgotten. Much like the Zune "me too" and its Marketplace "me too" products.
It's simply not enough of a compelling update to be worth the news its trying to generate.
It's simply anemic in content to try and steal any thunder on Tuesday.
jubei sounds like zune guy.
@Paul Chapel
"I don't have an iPod Touch, but I borrowed my dad's the other day..."
Wait. Why don't you have an iPod Touch?
"Look, we know how hard it is to hold in a secret..."
When has Engadget ever tried to keep a secret?
The wireless sharing sounds interesting- but how do they work that with the DRM? Also, the wireless syncing could be of some use I suppose.
Other than that my iPhone sounds much better.

my god i think my iq might have just been lowered after reading paul chapel's posts. they're so ridiculous i can't believe they're real. playing catch up? song-tagging/purchasing, wi-fi marketplace, channels, wireless sync and sharing? apple has NONE of these features yet microsoft is playing catch up? wow you can touch the screen! how does that improve the experience of LISTENING to music? please just stop posting. unless you are a joke poster. really.
Seconded.
As Bill Gates says, It's about the software now, not the hardware.
"Never doubt the power of the software"
The Zune will have unlimited new possibility in every firmware, Unlike iPod, as all features come straight out of the box.
Zune is like a "BETA" they still updating, fixing bugs, inventing new features - to make it more perfect.
Is that kinda war between fanclub of a "Media Player"?
I dont give a crap about games or FM tagging. Give me a graphical EQ and some decent signal to noise ratio.
The Zune sounds like s.h.i.t.! Microsoft, I loath you.
give me a graphical EQ and some decent SNR.
the Zune sounds like c-r-a-p.
Omfg! Please, shut the fu about iPod!
"Meh, still no iPod."
"New wifi toaster oven? Big deal! Merely playing cathup to Apple."
"Blue Zune?! Pshh... can't make it white like iPod?"
"Lame! iPod Touch feels good in my anus. Zune does not."
Look. You know you're just a f*cking conformist / fanslut if you pit EVERY f*cking thing against your lord, Apple. It's so damn old already. Why don't you just keep it inside.
I've owned the 2nd Gen iPod Video (or whatever it's called) for about 3 years now and it's been great. At the time of my purchase of it, I wanted a Zune instead, but the 1st Gens were too bulky. Then the flash memory Zunes came out, but with capacity too low for my interests.
I've always prefered Zune over iPod for many reasons, but these days, my main reason is because all these Apple fanboys make me feel ashamed to own anything Apple. I do not dislike Apple, but man iFans... chill out.
Once I buy this 120gb Zune, I'm taking my son's baseball bat and take one good crack at my iPod. If you feel a disturbance in the iPhorce, you'll know I bought me a Zune.
I wonder how many of us would keep commenting on here if we knew that 90% of the posters were 17.
BTW, what's a 'Zune'
I've owned both the iPod and the Zune. I've actually had the classic iPod Video, and currently own an iPod touch. But before my iPod touch I decided to branch out and try the Zune. I actually liked it alot. The click wheel got annoying cause I would always skip over the band I was trying to listen to. I actually owned a a Zen also, video something... I loved that mp3 player the most though. Kinda bulky but all the features on it made it amazing!
Anyway, the Zune is good, but I absolutely hated the sync feature. I'm one of those people who has more music than they know what to do with on their computer, and only want to listen to certain bands. I don't listen to the Radio, so I didn't use that feature much, and none of my friends had Zune's, because I'm the only one willing to try something new. I also got annoyed with trying to put videos on my Zune. For some reason, I could never get that to work, cause I was using the wrong file format..... AVI is not supported by the Zune? what?
Now, they may have added those features later on, but at that point, I was willing to go back to Apple (despite the bad incident I had with my classic iPod). I bought an iPod Touch 16gb from my brother, and I fell in love with it. That sounds really Apple fanboyish, but I am not one. I have a Windows-based computer that I love. I'm a hardcore gamer... so a Mac would not work for me (up until now, because I want to record music).
My point is, Microsoft really is behind on the times. For me, the iPod is better cause I don't want to listen to the Radio. I've always thought that was a worthless feature. and none of my friends own Zunes, so I can't just share music with them. And now that the iPod touch has the app store, and the ability to put whatever you want on there (Jailbreaking ftw!), it's much better in my book. It's going to be hard for microsoft to even come out with something that will compete. They should stick with their OS and 360, cause that's where they definitley have the hold right now.
