Sony Ericsson following Nokia down the unlimited music rabbit hole?
Why the long face, Sony Ericsson? Is it the fact that your revenue and market share are in the crapper? Do Sir Howie's words have you a bit on edge? Oh, wait, wait, don't tell us -- we know what it is! You just spent all this time, money, and elbow grease prepping your PlayNow Arena music purchase service for launch, and you're just a little worried that Nokia might upstage you with its fancy (though questionably-profitable) Comes With Music initiative. It looks like you might already be looking into patching that up, though, if a Financial Times report is spot-on that has you announcing your own unlimited download service later this month. Word on the street is that you already have deals locked up with EMI, Sony BMG (no shocker there), Warner, and a handful of indies, but Universal's holding out on you. Nokia was able to get Universal on board, so odds are you'll be able to, too -- or at least you better be able to if you want to make a serious play at the big boys.[Via mocoNews]

Seriously - who's buying music from Nokia or S/// ?
Sony Ericsson - listen:
1.) Bring out that damn X1!
2.) Start to lick MS's ass to get a hand on the WM7 development and start to develop a proper touchscreen multi-touch device using it!
3.) Publish the long awaited A300 plattform!
and finally and most important:
STOP copying Nokia's strategy! There's a reason Nokia just published their lowered revenue expectations for the next months.
why the oh-so-condescending tone chris?.....cause its not one of Steve Job's i-crap products? maybe another 'leaked' ipoo nano 4g case is more exciting news eh?
Didn't you already do a post on this ?

Well, last time you didn't mention universal holding out.
hey its not a bad way to get people to buy phones! universal holding out is kind of crappy, but thats still all kinds of major label greatness for you to listen to . . . assuming you still pay for music at all.
SE music shop is 100% DRM free, right? Is that why Universal is holding out?
But nomatter how much I love SE, they need to get a phone with bigger screen
on the market soon or I'll turn my love elsewhere.
Here in Norway Sony Ericsson shares the marked with Nokia, with some odd Samsung -peak. The iphone and its cousins doesn't seem to sucker the typical user into buying into this. Probably because sms is such a used feature here, and the need to see youtube videos on the run isn't.
I understand mr cool ice over here think the world evolve around multitouch smartphones, but I think if SE would just stop pushing 12 models into the marked at the same time with just a few cosmetic differences it would be easier to sell. Just go back to fewer models, better keyboards (bigger keys) and toss inn the x1 so the iphone crowd can have a less religious alternative.
