Toshiba refreshes pretty much every Satellite A / U / L-series ever
Toshiba aimed at the suits yesterday with the introduction of its Satellite Pro S300 and S300M, and today it's finishing things off in one fell swoop. The Satellite U405 (pictured), Satellite M305, Satellite M305D, Satellite A355, Satellite A305, Satellite L305 and Satellite L355 are all being refreshed today in order to cram in newer (read: zippier) Intel / AMD CPUs, face recognition software, USB Sleep-and-Charge ports, an eSATA combo port, built-in FM tuner and ATI Hybrid CrossFireX graphics in select models. Outside of a few expected increases in speed, capacity and capability, there's nothing here to really cheer about -- particularly if you were never hot with passion about the designs in the first place.

yeah but do they have removable batteries and hard drives??
I thought not!
Just another example of Apple innovation! ; )
wow...
I hope you understand that Apple are the ones that never let you take out the battery or hard drive before today.
I have never bought a Toshiba, but I am 90% they are just like everyone else and make it easy to take out the battery and hard drive.
PC laptops were letting you do this for years and years.
I think the ;) at the end meant sarcasm......
Looks nice.... Whats the price...?
Built in FM Tuner? WHAT?!?
When did this start happening on laptops?
Why does Engadget hate Toshiba? They are not the prettiest laptops but you know what they last forever. I am a network admin and I have noticed Toshiba laptops last longer than any other. It could be 10 yrs old but it is still ticking. I own 2 toshiba laptops and have never had a major problem with either if them. It is not about the way it looks it is what is inside that counts and quality manufacturing.
I agree. My sister has one and IMO she really puts it to the test and it works like a charm!
I also think the design of these new laptops look very nice with the black keys to just the over all look! Also built very good!
I just don't like how Toshiba laptops seem to be much heavier than other laptops with similar specs and screen size.
I wonder if Toshiba ever will have Blu-Ray options on their notebooks? I know they basically created the HD-DVD format and sadly watched as it crumbled before their eyes and how cold they adopt their sworn rival Blu-Ray?
And I don't like how the plastic feels. Build quality is not great, so I never felt like buying a Toshiba, for some reason.
I like its color, I hope the price is also suitable.
Good color.
