White bread wrist rest is non-organic yet ergonomic
Okay, let's say you're big into ergos. You've got your iPosture beeping at you like crazy whenever you slouch, ball-chair toning those core abdominals, and a split adjustable keyboard to make hunting and pecking that much more of an adventure. But what about maintaining the proper mousing angle? Put those fancy silicon pads away and reach for the riboflavin. We've seen a baguette-styled wrist rest before, but if that's a little too fancy for you, Brando has a another option: the plain white sliced bread. Sure, it's probably stuffed with GM wheat and has been bleached so thoroughly there's not a lick of nutrition left, but it might just delay the onset of carpal tunnel by a few years while whisking away any troublesome wrist perspiration. You're just six dollars a slice from this healthy mousing option -- $10 if you want enough to make a wrist sandwich.

6 dollars for a slice of bread???
ohhhh just hit up the read link....(not actually bread)
so...6 dollar for a slice of non-edible bread-looking wrist rest? What's next? a toaster looking ottoman?
Maybe a slice of bread with peanut butter and jelly model.
It would be $12 if it was crust-less.
I'll wait for the Wheat or Multigrain versions to come out.
@Tim Stevens
you do realize riboflavin is just vitamin B2, don't you?
I'd like mine without crust please.
what'll they think of next.
They'll make it pure white, add an Apple sticker to it and price it 10 times more..
iBread?? Nooo, maybe they'll just come out with wheat option next. Maybe a french version too
I thought it was real bread until it I read that read link.
Sad thing is you know someone did this at one time or another with a real piece of bread...
In for two! woot!
Im a pretty clean guy, but that white bread wont be white for too long no matter who you are.
Agreed. I'll wait for version 2.0, which will probably be of the whole-grain variety.
Or I'll hold out for the industrial version: pumpernickel.
Nothing wrong with GM wheat.
Not to be a stick in the mud, but the tag line states that it's ergonomic. This is anti ergonomic!!!! Any sort of arm rest or wrist rest promotes carpal tunnel syndrome. I can't remember exactly, but it basically puts pressure on your veins and is way more problematic than helpful. This is the biggest piece of crap product ever.
Engadget isn't always all that accurate on the little details. Humor trumps accuracy in the tag lines. I don't have a problem with that though. I enjoy the humorous titles.
Ah, you can't remember exactly? How about looking it up then, instead of spurting diffuse nonsense and creating unnecessary FUD? You know, Google query? Ten seconds?
According to 'pedia, carpal tunnel syndrome has nothing to do with the veins, it's a mostly genotype related and often idiopathic (cause unknown) condition where the median nerve is compressed.

Also, arm rests and the like aren't even mentioned among the work related theories.
Genetically Modified Wheat
Monsanto, the agricultural biotechnology company, genetically modified a variety of hard red spring wheat to resist the company's Roundup herbicide.
The environment and economy of the Northern Great Plains are threatened by the potential introduction of this genetically modified (GM) wheat. Questions about market acceptance, farmer liability, segregation, and risks to the environment and human health remain unanswered. We are working to prevent the commercial introduction of GM wheat until these questions are answered.
In May 2004, Monsanto announced that it was shelving research and development on genetically modified (GM) wheat. The announcement followed five years of opposition by wheat farmers, consumers, and food safety activists to the commercial introduction of Roundup Ready wheat.
thats super.
this will go great with my thanko usb bear gloves
wrist rest? not so much. I'm thinking of one for an awesome elbow rest. my desk is an L, and my keyboard is up on top in the corner. get the 2 pack, one for each arm.
whats sucks is soon it will be cheaper to buy this and have your kids eat it....
Sweet! This is the best thing since... Oh, never mind.
Perfect.
Honestly, i was waiting for that! I almost had to say it myself
Wow. I'm learning all this right now!
In English I am doing a Pro-Con presentation on Genetically Modified Foods and in Health Mr. Liott said white bread and all white foods are useless.
Well, I guess he was wrong then...of course, this isn't really food. :)
Is that sarcasm, or is Mr. Liott a food-ist?
No seriously. My health teacher said to pick up broken glass with white bread o.O
I want a cheaper Chinese version made from melamine, cause I wont be eating this one.
I went the read link but I cannot find anywhere that this is not real bread, or rather what its made of.
So I think based on solarpos comment, Monsanto is finally making use of its GM wheat without killing anyone in the process
This looks too whitebread for me.
I had CTS release surgery, which worked great, on my dominant hand this past summer and the physical therapy guy that I went to during my recovery said that wrist rests did more damage than good.
He said that proper keyboard/mouse surface height was the best way to keep the wrists straight.
White bread wrist rest...say THAT five times fast
dammit...>_
Why??
For the love of all that's good and pure! Whyyyyyy?!?!
Not good cause mouses eat bread.
How crumby.
(booooooooo)
Yummm, now I writhe in pain as I try to eat a non-edible piece of bread X.X
