Samsung NC20, 3G NC10 now available for pre-order in the UK
The Russians have already declared their love, and soon you'll be able to get your mitts on the Samsung NC20 and see for yourself what all the fuss is about. It's now available for pre-order from UK retailer BT Shop, priced at £390.98 ($565) VAT included, with a white model due out in February and a black iteration in March. Both models sport a 12.1-inch WXGA display, Windowx XP Home Edition, 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 CPU processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Bluetooth, 3-in-1 card reader, 1.3 megapixel camera, and a 6 Cell battery -- no SSD option at the moment. Additionally, the shop is also showing a new NC10 equipped with HSDPA coming next month for £416.63 ($602) with VAT, which is £107 ($154) more than its non-3G equivalent. Not to worry, US readers, we're sure Sammy will be asking for your Benjamins soon enough.

Currently in the market for a netbook. At the minute I'm going for the nc 10. but I don't know whether to wait for asus touch screen netbooks. It all depends on the release date and price of the asus touch screen netbooks. Problem is I don't know either.
The BT Shop is just Dabs, so it's also available there.
They always charge a bit more than dabs though.
*Is tempted but will still hang on for tablet netbooks*
BTW: Is the VIA faster clock for clock than the Atom?
The Nano is quite a bit faster than the Atom, yes.

that article is about a 1.8Ghz nano...
This (possibly slightly bias :-) ) video would suggest that the 1.3ghz Nano out performs the 1.6ghz Atom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MklPBVPSp0
Wow, now I don't know which one to chooseSamsung NC20 or Eee 1000HE ?
Yep they do also have them at dabs. I wacked the direct links up over at SammyNetbook.com earlier in the week ;)!
How much does this thing weigh compared to the NC10?
As far as I can tell it is ≈1.5kg (3.3lbs) compared with the NC10's ≈1.33kg (2.9lbs).
I think the 12.1 inch 1280x800 will give a much more laptop-y experience if that is what you are after. Personally, I'm willing to sacrifice screen real estate for a ≈1kg weight.
These specs make no sense...
Via nano 1.3Ghz, but 12" screen?
How do the nanos compare to the beloved atom?
This is the first laptop in a long time that I actually wanted to buy.
Bah.. I'm not too sure if this will sell in big numbers. A 12" screen isn't what most netbook buyers have in mind. I think the NC10 is a better buy right now.
I'm very interested in this as a replacement for my 1.2 GHz G4 iBook, which is still serving me pretty well - the NC20 has the same size screen (12") with more pixels(1280x800 vs 1024x768), a bigger hard drive, bluetooth and a webcam, much better battery life (especially because my iBook's battery is quite old), hopefully similar performance, and about two pounds lighter (I can live without an internal optical drive). I might even be willing to put up with Windows XP, but Ubuntu is more likely. I hope this hits US vendors soon and we see some more reviews.
