Sony PlayStation 2 just $99.99 starting tomorrow

We're really hoping that this isn't Sony's global announcement. Nevertheless, starting tomorrow April 1st, the PlayStation 2 will be available for less than $100 (down from $129.99), exactly as rumored. Hoozah?

Gee, I wonder why Microsoft doesn't still make and sell the original Xbox. Could it be because of something called "progress?" MS does still make the newer 360 model and let's see, decided to LOWER THE PRICE while pumping more packaging variations. I remember a Sony interview a while back where one of their executives was quoted as saying something along the lines of "...people will enjoy paying more for our products because of the value" and inferred there was no need to lower their prices.

This is awesome news for me, my PS2 just got stolen a few weeks ago and I was about to go buy a new one when I learned of the price cut, now I get to save some money and spend it on something else, maybe I'll grab a new game for my DS, or a WoW time card.
