Acer's AT&T 3G Aspire One landing at Costco on May 11?

Hot on the heels of Radio Shack's $79.99 AT&T-subsidized Acer netbook incident, it looks like the folks at Costco are looking to get in on the action their own self. According to Boy Genius Report, the 3G-ified, 10.1-inch Aspire One will be available at the box store from May 11th. Employees are currently undergoing intense, military-style training, which will culminate on May 8th, and the netbooks should be hitting electronics kiosks on May 11. Pricing yet to be sussed out, but you'll know as soon as we do. Promise.

Will Costco be selling it in a twelve pack?
What fun to jailbreak, anyone?
YES :-)
Now make that contract a decent one and I'm all buy, buy buy.
No, don't even think about the usual $60 per month... that's an outrageous price for 3G.
I must say, $60 a month is way too much, I could understand no more the $30 per month.
I think the bigger e-reader / netbooks are the next big thing for subscription based media/publishing house.

AHAHAHAH!!
I guess the iPhone is not good enough to surf anymore...
I tried to tell all you but if you want internet you need a computer...
AHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!
nubs!
Interesting and timely. I was at Costco yesterday and found a display of Aspire "Accessory Packs" sans the netbooks themselves. I walked around the computer aisle a couple of times just to be sure, but no Acers. Now I know why.
It is actually 49.99 at RadioShack now. The store in Duarte even gave me 25% off of my monthly bill. I only pay $45/month.
How did they give you 25% on your monthly bill? I went into another RadioShack in Monrovia (down the street) and they looked at me like I was some sort of idiot. I will head to the Duarte Store after work to confirm they will add a FAN discount to my bill. Do you remember you you talked to? Who offered that discount to you?
Radioshack's subsidized netbook is now $49.99. Tempting.
They all need to learn more about their products.

Newb question...will the Atom processor (and 1gig mem) be able to handle Photoshop at all? I'm not a heavy user just a hack that wants to learn photoshop on the go.
It'd struggle really badly if you want to use anything that photoshop is good for (and if you're not, use pixlr). Photoshop is a memory whore and can really give a cpu a run for it's money, I use it for basic photo stuff with my E8400 and found 2GB wasn't nearly enough memory (6GB is doing fine though) and I could still tax the CPU from time to time.
Plus the tiny screen would be a real downside. Get a 15" Dell for a little bit more, you'll still probably find it slow but it'd be light years ahead.
Seriously, why would anyone want to run a graphical, processor intensive application on a netbook? The software costs more than the netbook! Thats like an optics engineers asking how fast a netbook can process FFTs because they want to run simulations on it.
How the FACK is RADIOSHACK not dead yet?
Chrystler is going under but Radiocrap is not? They both sell over priced made in chinas junk to idiot who walk in the store... ???
Why don't they just put a link for Hulu on the desktop and throw in a free subscription to Netflix. That way AT&T is sure to get their money back the first month when the victims go over 5GB.
Since this requires a cellular service, Aspire 3G is not landing at Costco. It is land at the Cellular Kiosks inside Costcos. Kiosks are not run by Costco but by a different company.
RadioShack's Acer is now only $49.99 with contract, sale goes on until 6/20
I picked up one of these Aspire One ATT 3G netbooks today @ Costco. I wanted the non-3G version however; the folks @ Costco let me buy this thing instead.... The ATT Rep was obviously pissed off cuz I didnt buy into their BS 3G two year SCAM!! BIG RIP OFF!! The outside of the box indicated the system included BT 2.0, WIMAX, WiFi and the "crown jewel" 3G SIM card slot...BFD... I get the machine home and........ NO BT, NO WIMAX!! I asked the ATT rep how much the data plan $$ and how long? He proudly answered $60 per month.. Then I said why so much? He said, "Thats a GREAT PRICE!" Then I pulled my BB Bold from my pocket and asked the same question...(I knew the answer..) With a confident tone he said, $30 per month... Then I said, "Why would I pay $60/month for 3G access when I can just hook up my other netbook via BT and blaze the net all day?? Then he comes back with some BS mumbo tech answer, made NO sense.. Had him cornered at that point. After his last answer, I ended the discussion by taking out my Nokia n810 (pre paired) w/BB Bold and the look on his face was priceless!! Bottom line.. ------>"ATT more bars in more places....for the engineers and sales reps to get drunk!!" Aspire One 10.1 nice netbook. Costco has a great return policy!!!
