FIIIIRRRSSSTTTTT!
Sorry for all my firsts guys :(
"Remorse for trying to act cool" fail!
Now, if only they had a Mini 12v...
My thoughts exactly. I decided to stop waiting and get a mini 12 from the Dell outlet, as there happened to be one with Ubuntu and a 6 cell battery. $350 shipped with the 15% off coupon that's floating around online.
My "Willy" got his order in this morning. :)
I don't see it in US site.
You also probably gain Hackintosh compatibility, given as it's the standard Atom+GMA 950 combo.
That's not a given, sadly; all netbooks pretty much have all the same specs, but it takes just a different ethernet controller or wifi card to make those parts not work under current hackintosh builds (it'll come around though, no doubt).
I hate when Dell makes fun of my moms...
Finally, another netbook at the correct price range! ($300)
"What you give up in video processing performance (and perhaps battery life)..."
Doesn't the original mini 10 already suck in terms of video performance (and battery life)? I've read so many complaints about mini 10 performance over at mydellmini.com - mostly due to the GMA 500 and non-upgradeable RAM. Dell should at least update this thing with Mini 9 internals. Then I would buy.
Nevermind. I'm a moron. Didn't read the specs. If this thing comes with upgradeable memory then I'll take two. ;-)
Makes you wonder how manufacturers can justify selling a phone for $700-800 or more.
Not really. Phones are tinier (i.e. expensive).
I understand that, but it's still doesn't add up.
Without user-upgradable RAM this thing is a no go. I'll stick with my do-it-all Mini9 running Windows 7 nearly perfectly thank you very much.
another day, another crappy netbook..
this should be fifty bucks tops
Danish XP, Danish Keyboard with Croatian Docs... How does that work???
Why do all manufacturers like to use the WSVGA or WSXGA+ type of resolution description when MOST people have to really think about about, or even GO LOOK UP, what the hell that means, AND they use 5 or 6 characters when they could just put 1024X768 which is only 3 more and tells EXACTLY what it is without anything else needed.
Indeed we are returning to netbook level pricing, which in my book is around $300. Most of the machines over $400 are more mini laptops than netbooks. Also a true netbook should have enough memory with 512 MBs, and more than enough with 1 GB, especially if there is a Linux option.
I just moved in Denmark, I might check this out! :)
I just ordered this netbook with some accessories from the Dell Canada website, delivery date is June 29th. Looks good from the site, but will see when I get it. I ordered Red with a case and other items.
Thanx for the info everyone placed on here, is helpful.
I will be back in July to report my findings.... wish me luck
Thanx Lanna
