HP Envy 15 spotted, looking pretty real
We've heard chatter of HP-branded Envy machines in the past -- most notably the 13.1-inch Envy 13 -- and now we have specs for an alleged Envy 15-1060ea Notebook PC. According to topproduct.nl, the laptop features a 15-inch display, 1600 MHz Intel Core i7 processor-720QM CPU (6MB cache), 320GB HDD, 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics, a Night Vision Webcam with IR LEDs for fans of the "Paris Hilton" school of videography, a 6-cell battery, Windows 7 Home Premium, and more. Get a closer look after the break.

WORD
The translate says that this laptop takes 120W "Food"
If it has a back-lit keyboard and a sub $2k pricetag (preferably around $1500), I'm in.
Looks like mac.
you're right, considering the specs it looks like a Mac from 2011.
No it doesnt. There's an "hp" stamped on it instead of an apple.
Yeah, it got a keyboard and a screen... Like looking in a mirror....
HaHa, wow the Apple hatred never seems to reach new heights. Of course this looks nearly identical to a Macbook Pro, only someone with an extreme disdain for apple would say otherwise, down to the exact same black bevel and button less track-pad. Only major difference from this perspective is they decided to put the air vents in the front instead of the back, in fact i wouldn't be surprised if they only took a 15in MBP flipped the vents, upped the specs and put an HP sticker on it. Put an apple sticker on it and nobody would even stop to notice it really wasn't one. From a purely cosmetic standpoint this is the Chinese Geely GE to the Rolls Royce Phantom.
Apple Macbook Pro, hold the pretentious fanboys, Steve Jobs and bags of hurt.
I may not be the biggest apple fan around (i.e. I'd never buy a macbook) but it certainly looks like a macbook. Anyone who's seen a macbook should immediately notice "Hey, that looks like a mac!"
You'd have to be blind to say this doesn't look like a macbook.
You mean the macbook looks like HP's notebooks. HP has been using the black screen and aluminum body look for 2+ years now, well before Apple ripped them off.
Let's check that out, shall we? The envy: http://images.topproduct.nl/img/norm/high/3552757-HP.jpg And now, the macpro:

Wow, it's so freaking tacky when PCs copy mac (or Vista takes a stab at a similar GUI format as OSX), and I'm not a fanboy but seriously, this is ridiculous.
if you turn it into a hackintosh of course it's a mac... but thank goodness it doesn't have efi.
I look at this through the screen of my MBP and I see a twin.
HP has always made notebooks with rounded features.
I want to go to there.
Is it just me or do the specs read "4096GB RAM?" With a 1600MHz i7 processor? Something sounds a bit awkward about that.
well, RAM has been fixed in the article, and it's a quad core chip, so no crazy Ghz values here.
That 1.6ghz Core i7 has turbo mode which takes it to nearly 3ghz when plugged into an outlet. It is quite the processor.
More about turboboost tech here.... http://www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/
Yes, but it doesn't have a turbo button :(
So this thing can reach the speeds of my Phenom II 920?
sweet jesus! 4096GB of RAM!
ha, just kidding, i know what it really is, or is that the truth! ahhh! its blowing my mind!
Awesome specs, will probably be waaaaay overpriced though.
2 grand. mark my words. and the specs on the link are wrong. it has usb 3.0 mark those words too.
I am marking your words... mark my words.
Yo dawg I herd you like marking words...
sweet. thanks for marking. you rule
Kind of look like Mac
..minus the stigma. Perfect.
It can look like dog shit or watever as long as it is light and has a quad core chip
Love it!
With such big ugly air vents you would think they could afford a slightly higher clock speed on this thing...
the battery man....
Turbo boost, man, turbo boost.
HP is stupid, this should have definately a VoodooPC branding
Its has a 4830 GPU in a 15", that's amazing in that size, and yet all they leave Voodoo with is a laptop with no GPU
could you please post some more info about the performance of this GPU
6 cell with an i7 -> runtime on battery = 18.2 minutes with wifi off
The core i7 architecture is more efficient. How does that equate to less battery life?
The TDPs... theyre.... Huge!
The desktop versions yes, the mobile versions, no.
Just wish these i7 processors were better on battery life. Oh yeah, also wish this comp didn't cost $2k+.
I think it's better to wait until intel's pushing out their 34nm line (or whatever it is). Less power, less heat, better on battery life, better for laptops. Give it another year or so.
32nm......now fixed
This would be the first laptop using a mobile i7 chip, no other laptops have them... The Sagers/Alienwares are using desktops parts.
I would advise everyone to stay away from HP laptops. Aside from the incredibly horrible customer service, their laptops are infamous for failing shortly after warranty expiration. A quick search at getsatisfaction.com will show you all you need to know. Yes, I am bitter - but you would be too if you threw away your hard earned money on a crap machine.
Are you serious? I've had a bunch of hp laptops and I can say that their customer service is nothing short of amazing. I talked to them about my tv tuner failing, 2-3 days later I had a new tv tuner at my door and I didn't even have to send my old one back. Their response times are amazing, I get emails back within 1 hour.
You should consult the Sale of Goods Act which states that if a product even outside of warranty still has to be durable to a reasonable and expected standard, which means that you are entitled to a replacement if it failed within a couple years as everyone including HP would admit that a laptop is expected to last for at least 18 months.
