I for one refuse to buy anything that has Windows 7 installed until I'm sure we don't have another Vista in disguise. I want to see how it operates for everyday people in the real world, not just the geeks who always report that every MS product works great. I have customers who still have Vista driver issues, so we'll see how Windows 7 does in this regard.
I've been using it for about three weeks, absolutely love it. I had it on an 11z which handled it extremely well. It's amazing to have an OS that grabs it's own drivers :) I put XP on my XPS M1330 (bc our exam software doesn't support 7 and I couldn't live with Vista) and I was frustrated at having to download and install all of the drivers. Windows 7 spoils you lol. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
@ gamergirl
You speak the truth. lol I had to go back to Vista for a couple days since my laptop decided to play with fire.
Those were the longest days of my life.
Windows 7 is an awesome OS. I lived with it on a day-to-day, and rarely if ever was in want of a feature. It has a (very) slight learning curve, but what new OS doesn't?
*sighs* Win 7 has been "out there" since January. I'm sorry but you don't need average user 1d1ots to stress test the OS. Win 7 is solid. Period. This is NOT Vista and frankly I'm not a fanboi (Actually I am fanboish when it comes to people spreading FUD, no matter what platform.) I've been running Win 7 on 2 laptops and 1 desktop since January. Its solid. Period. End of story.
My biggest concern at this point are OEM installs. All the additional crap that Dell, Gateway, HP, Toshiba, add to their systems to make it unreliable. The 30 day AV software which is pointless.
Part of me really does wish that MS would get into the hardware game to make everyone else improve their OS image.
Not a single gaming i7 laptop among the lot. *sighs*
Your avatar has never been more appropriate...
lol@typoes on gateway's website. some models off "8192GB DDR3 ram"
The Wacom tablet is not natively supported by Windows 7. Trackpad support is not built in Windows 7, they all require proprietary drivers.
I love windows. :)
OMG ! Lets just do one thing... compare what is new and available from the *fruit company.. and What is new today ! With Win 7 ...
Uh...... Say bye !
The freaking OS is SOLID ! its been solid since Jan ! Get OVER IT... NOW there is hardware ALL OVER for it ! Find what you like.. and Go for it !
Or......
Pay a premium.... buy a *fruit product... and wish you could get some work done... :( DOH ! its ok.. you can run Win 7!!!!!! LOL
Windows 7 Beta is pretty good. I have used it for a few months now. I noticed that When you have a lot of programs running it doesn’t lag. There are some good features that Microsoft introduced into Windows 7. It’s easier to use and faster. Windows certainly needed some improvement. I have written a report on my experience using Windows 7 Beta. Have a look at my article, hopefully it will be useful. Please let me know what you think by commenting there.

We don’t know what problems may arise in the future for Windows 7 it’s still too early but on the whole it looks great.
