Lenovo leaks ThinkPad Edge, X100e, T410s, W510, T510 and more ahead of CES
Hey Lenovo, your cards are showing. Just weeks after the FCC tipped us off on a new pair of netbooks that are all but definitely slated for a CES unveiling, Lenovo has no one but its web administrator(s) to blame for this one. A "New product showcase" portal over on the outfit's site has just revealed a half dozen new lappies that are slated to go on sale starting January 5th - 7th, with the ultra-sleek 13.3-inch ThinkPad Edge (pictured above) leading the way. Said rig boasts up to 7.8 hours of battery life, a dual-core CPU, Windows 7, Bluetooth and WiMAX options, integrated WWAN / GPS, WiFi, a spill-resistant keyboard, three USB ports, a 5-in-1 media card reader and an option for a red paint job. There's also a sub-3 pound ThinkPad X100e ultraportable with an 11.6-inch display, AMD processor and an only-available-overseas Arctic White color option. The T410, T410s, T510 and W510 are bringing up the rear, with their (admittedly brief) specification lists spelled out in the source links below.

[Thanks, Jake and Daniel]

@Jacob1 That is not what I stated on my post. Engadget was touting the "U" series as an ultraportable or touchscreen netbook. HP has had a touchscreen tablet for awhile now. Engadget was showing a Lenovo netbook that looked like a Sony Vaio "P" series that had a touchscreen. They touted this thing for weeks during the year.
Where is it?
Noooo X100e should have a CULV option too.
Thinkpads that aren't metallic black or black... really is an end of an era.
But I really dig the X100e. Much like the classic 200 series reborn.
@charlietokowitz I think it looks like it came from IKEA.
@Christian Martin
Revised comment system fail YAAAAY.
These look really nice - especially the Edge. Good to see how much they've improved design wise.
Finally an AMD CPU onboard a netbook !
"a half dozen lappies"??
I beg you Engadget. Please start 2010 right and get rid of the idiotic, moronic, childish shortening of words to make them "cute". I understand you're bloggers and not serious journalists, but a little goes a long way.
Let's make 2010 the year without these:
lappie or lappy for laptop
Panny for Panasonic
Sammy for Samsung
vacay for vacation
hundie for hundred
passy for pacifier
ciggie for cigarette
I beg you. Stop the castration of the English language! It's not cute - you sound like a jackass.
@paulrus
Someone is a little uptight...They're just words calm down. This place is for science and technology there is no room for people holding B.A's HAHA
Just kidding.
if only they had proper gpu on their laptops!
Seeing a ThinkPad that comes in anything but matte black finish just seems wrong to me. I don't know, it just isn't right seeing a ThinkPad model with anything but black as the color. Feels weird.
@Solidstate89 if you check out the bottom pic if the lenovo site, it actually looks pretty good

holy shit
the first time i'd ever call a thinkpad sexy
i might make the switch, we'll see
I'm somewhat disappointed by the ThinkPad edge/100e models. A non-Intel ThinkPad? What sacrilege!
On the other hand, a core i5/i7 T-series sounds like win and it does prove one of my 2010 predictions that the ThinkPad line will move towards the mainstream/prosumer market. Eh, what can I say? As a ThinkPad user/fanboy, I'm glad that the brand is getting the recognition it deserves. I just wish it didn't have to make more SL-series type products - no rollcage or matte finish - to get there.
@Harrison
Agreed. I *HATE* intel, emphasis on hate. They make horrible products and have even worse business practices, and for some reason, it feels wrong to see a ThinkPad with anything but intel.
On the other hand, I'm glad to see AMD gaining more market share, and I know that anything with an AMD sticker is going to be twice as good as any same-priced intel device, however I hate to see it debut on a ThinkPad name defaming model like that, its like Lenovo wants it to fail.
Its too crappy and fragile to be a ThinkPad but too expensive to be a crappy laptop. It only falls into the poverty brandname-buying category with people too poor to buy a real thinkpad AND too stupid to buy something good in a price range they can afford. Why must Lenovo do this...
X100E = Hopefully my first Thinkpad
@vinhl if you pay the bit 300 more for an x200 youl be much more satisfied. But i must say this new one doesnt look half bad for the basic user.
where the hell are the arrandale culv systems? i've been waiting for them for 2 years...
omg this is going to be awesome!
