wait, that thing isn't out yet?
All those DROID and Nexus One buyers are really regretting that purchase now.
@KevinLWright
I hope you're being sarcastic. While the wood finish is cool, it's still a low-end smartphone, compared to the Droid and Nexus.
@TareG
I thought his sarcasm was pretty
obvious.
@n8equalsd
the internet is no place for sarcasm
@TareG
Do you mind, I have one and it aint that low-end.
@KevinLWright This limited edition, features a new sunburst finish inspired by Fender guitars as well as a number of enhancements centered around, not surprisingly, music. Information: http://bit.ly/mytouch-3g-fender-leaked
If that were real Fender wood, I could definitely do this.
Because it's not, I could still get on board.
It should be called a Squire if its not made of real wood.
@NaJaKwa not to be an ass...
squiER
are you guys still bitching over non-existant 3G issues on the Nexus? it all boils down to people in areas with spotty 3G coverage who don't understand signal loss. get a damn grip.
thats hot
All that's needed now is the android version of Guitar Hero.
Preloaded with a digital chord fingering chart, and and a "Pocket Guitar" game?
would have been great if it were 2009.
Question is, is this a 32A or a gimped 32B?
If it's a 32A than this basically is an HTC Hero in the MyTouch 3G clothing.
It would make for a fantastic device for Rooting and using Custom ROMs.
Especially those Sense UI ROMs designed for 32A phones.
@Taknarosh Dude, I'm nerdy, and I have a rooted phone, but I think you put everybody here to sleep.
@kpgalligan
Agreed. a very yawn-worthy post.
@kpgalligan Sorry. =[
But really though, if it's the version of the phone with less RAM this is pretty worthless.
@Taknarosh It's identical to the Rogers 32A HTC Magic.
@Gold Mamba Well I'll be damned, this phone will be able to used the Sense UI + Android 2.1 Update that HTC will be putting out to the Rogers HTC Magic.
wonder what the actions like?
...but will it play "If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out" by Cat Stevens??
Sweet, but a bit cheesy IMO.
I don't care if theres a Nokia 3310 inside, I NEED that case in my life!
@pachi72
Because 2009 was 2 years ago.
Fender is not the first company that comes to mind when you see a bookmatched piece of flamed maple.
@pachi72
Exactly. I don't think it would even run Android 2.1... FAIL.
Meh, too little too late. With that wood back cover, I won't be able to use a custom cover without it not matching. I wonder if it'll come with an updated firmware though?
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????????????????
@TareG If this phone truly is a 32A device, it will be able to use the Sense UI + Android 2.1 Update that HTC will be putting out to the Rogers HTC Magic.
I'm so ready to pay just a wee bit more for my service if I can get a reasonably good goddam phone. What a farce.
God dammit, Engadget. It's bad enough that you guys make an article every time a cellphone company sneezes, but to not just cover... but have multiple updates on what is nothing more than a fucking cell phone case... Just stop, just fucking stop. That is not technology.
I have to say, though, that the earbuds that come with the MyTouch are probably the most uncomfortable earbuds in the history of all mankind.
alrite. can someone please tell me when my t mobile my touch is gonna get the 2.0 or 2.1 update? and a flash player.
@pachi72 is there gonna be any over the air updates? what you told me sounds way to hard. but thanks. maby ill look into it though.
I am trying to understand this one but I can't quite get it through...this is the same old phone same old weak cpu \ specs with a new case? Wow...I thought this was already out? Lol.
@(Unverified) Slightly more RAM than the MyTouch3G.
This allows it to be good enough to run Sense UI + Android 2.1

Confirmed it's a 32A device. Expect to see that Sense UI + Android 2.1 goodness hacked to it.
