Make your Magic Mouse oh-so-ergonomic with this pasty silicone grip
While it's hard to say if Apple's Magic Mouse really needs "fixing" -- it depends somewhat on your grip -- it's not a huge stretch to say that the slender multitouch device doesn't quite fit in the palm of one's hand. Sensing a market opportunity, Will of MMFixed.com recently decided to come to our collective rescue. For $10, he offers a simple silicone block that matches the mouse's contoured surface nicely, with an integrated suction cup that keeps it securely fastened. While it's not quite a one-size-fits-all solution, it's certainly a lot cheaper than buying one of the new whacky, adjustable mice we've seen recently; and if the idea of ergonomics via marshmallow doesn't appeal to you, you can always try the white bread variety. Video after the break.

I use a magic mouse, get no strain, I don't rest my palm on the mouse anyways, the mouse works for me.
Who the hell "palms" their mouse? I've never done that. I always hold it by the sides with my non-clicking fingers and thumb, and most of my movement is done without moving my hand.
Maybe that's the source of all this RSI people have experienced in the last decade or so.
Mousing: You're Doing It Wrong.
Simply put a Arc Mouse over it and got fixed.
I bought 2 of them; 1 for home and 1 for work. The one fir home is used for email and Internet etc and is fine. The one at work lasted about 2 days! No way I could use it 8 hours a day so I had to revert back to mighty mouse. However, don't really like that either. Any ideas for a mouse that had GREAT sideways scrolling as I use spreadsheets a lot
It all depends on the size of your hands. It's not for everyone. That aside, it fits nicely in my hand.
You sure thats a mouse?
I've never seen one before, if that was on a table or something I would just think its just some dodgy art deco.
I coudn't use a mouse like that, i get bad hand hand strain after wounding my hand (not because of wanking btw).
The Magic Mouse *looks* great. The fact you have to put an ugly piece of silicon on it to make it usable is laughable. Form over function is lame.
@usa1
You don't. I don't think this add on is going to be popular in any way.
Magic Mouse owners should download "Magic Prefs" to unlock a bag full of goodies.
It was fun to play with initially, but after spending the last week video editing with one, I ordered myself an MX 1100. My hands are on the larger side, so the mouse doesn't fit me well. Since it is so low profile, I don't have anything to rest my hand on, resulting in repetitive stress pain. The "magic" scroll wheel also kept getting touched on accident, zooming in and out of my video window constantly. What a headache (or for the sake of accuracy, "handache"). Can't wait for my new mouse to arrive.
Sent from my iMac with a Magic Mouse. For now at least.
Just to throw my opinion out there
Spent the weekend at my friends house, he just picked up brands new imac, and honestly, as someone who has never used Apple computers ( no particular dislike, I just enjoy building my own computers), the mouse was actually really cool. The right click is screwy, and I like to play games where right click is important, but besides that the mouse is cool.
Hell if apple puts a mouse out I can use for my comp and the right click is better, I may seriously consider getting one and replacing my gaming mouse I picked up 3 years ago.
Oh, just to appeal to the majority of the engadget forum community that I've encountered.....RAWR RAWR IPAD SUCKS RAWR!
I actually really like this idea, personally i don't have a problem with my magic mouse but I love usability design and personal modification is always intriguing! This is a great example example of both good luck.
