Notes:
1 A purported 2.1 upgrade has been promised and delayed more times than we care to count anymore.
2 The Nexus One is currently available unlocked for T-Mobile's and AT&T's 3G networks, separately, and on track to hit Verizon, Sprint in the near future.

im on an iphone first gen
@samin100 We all care deeply.
@samin100
*pats back* it's ok man you know the world moves on. It's called.....................................NEXT GENERATION TECHNOLOGY
@Nitesh
I feel unapprecaited looking at all these magnificent beasts.
A few years ago the 1st gen iPhone was **IT** .
look at it now...
you just don't get my point
@Nitesh I suddenly care a lot more now that you were a complete jerk to the guy.
@samin100 All three of those devices are Game and Pants Changers first the Droid Then the Nexus One and NOW its The EVO 4G...
@choffy21 I'm a jerk for caring? Ok then.
@samin100 dude the first iphone in my opinion is the best looking one and i would rather have one than a 3g. (but i might take the 3gs over it tho haha)
@samin100 Speaking of long in the tooth...
Me too. :( Time to upgrade.
@RyanGorup
lol.. im 12 years old... seriously and im amazed at every piece of electronics
i actually have a razr...
********EPIC FAILURE***********
They should throw in the iPhone into the face off, just to see how cheap and old fashioned it really is.. :)
@samin100
I'm 12 and what is this?
@samin100
im actually 18.... and i am going to major in Computer Sciences at DePaul University the fall, and i have the palm pre (sprint).
********************epic pwnage***********************
@samin100
Okay, have yet to see this answered. All this talk of this phone being on Sprint.. Will this phone be available worldwide aswell?!
@Nitesh This is the ultimate nerdgasmic experience as of the moment, Advantages: 1.8 mp frontfacing camera / 8mp cam / 4G WiMax Capability / has Sense UI (adobe flash ready?) 4.3 inch screen, 720p HD playback capability. For sure, this is more than what we expected during its conceptual supersonic phone. Glimpse: http://bit.ly/the-supersonic-phone-concepts
@RyanGorup
i have a GPA of EXACTLY 4.0 and i plan to go to MIT cause first of all, ill probably get a scholarship, second of all, my mom works there so i get free tuition...
P.S. im twelve and in 9th grade... i skipped 2nd, 4th, 6, 7th grades
***********EPICer pwnage************
@Slycer
well, it depends on what country u r... does your provider offer 4g yet of plans to and is it CDMA?
@samin100
im seriously confused, have you been mocking me or are you telling the truth?
@samin100 Even 'your' iphone 4th gen wont come even close to this one. :D
@RyanGorup
You should change your name to something else. Your Facebook page is stupid, albeit very informative.
@RyanGorup Yea dude for sure, the first gen iphone def had the best design of the 3, but back to the REAL Hero, THE EVO!!!!!!! i love being on sprint, ive been waiting for a new phone since i got that piece of crap instinct a while back
@Slycer No one else has 4G in the US, why would they release it to the other carriers?
@samin100 I am sorry
@samin100
*Mouth drops to floor*
@HighestRanked2
O RLY? Exactly what does the iPhone have that Android doesnt?
@Nitesh Looks like the Droid is a big can of FAIL.
@TruUnknowN haha, haters make me laugh.
@Nitesh
Can't choose between the DROID, Nexus One (coming soon to Big Red), or EVO 4G (coming in summer to Sprint, but buying/unlocking/activating on Verizon network). Damn!
@shadowj0
I don't know why engadget is omitting all the things that nexus one has advantage in... such as having the slimmest profile, dual microphone, fastest updates, and OLED vs the now antiquated LCD technology.
Oh, wait I do know why engadget would omit such pro google info.
Damn the evo4g is sexy.
I want to have it's babies
@look a cow OMG this phone is the sexiest phone ive ever seen i cant wait to trade my hero in, thank you SPRINT i love you all over again
@look a cow
What about the the next gen iPhone? I mean, shouldn't we include it in this list since it will be out by the time the EVO is actually available. F announcements w/o availability.
@steel Uhh... F announcements without availability?
How about F putting phones on the list that have NO f'ing info available at all... Like the next gen iPhone?

My wife doesn't appreciate technology. She won't switch to Sprint for this Evo 4g. I shall patiently await a second rate [Nexus One] phone. Barnacles.
@Distant
tell her to shut up and make you a sandwich as you go out and buy yourself this phone like the man you are.
@Dustin
Well played. [Enjoys turkey sandwich.]
@Distant
can i have some?
@Distant
Well if you are on Verizon or AT&T, you would probably save money by switching to Sprint. Use that excuse?
@krische
I typically hear the "but everyone we know is on Verizon." complaint. Not only that, I haven't done the homework of checking reception and blah blah. I'm making excuses now.
@Dustin
EVO destroys N900 too!
@Distant
the "everyone is on Verizon" doesn't matter anymore. Sprint has unlimited calling to all cellphones on all networks. So you only pay for landline calls.
@Distant Those are excuses. You do know that even if everybody you know is on Verizon, Sprint offers unlimited mobile to mobile calling to ANY mobile network, right? Also, the coverage? Sprint and Verizon use the SAME EXACT technology, CDMA at the same frequencies. Also, if there aren't Sprint towers near you, the phones roam to the Verizon towers. You aren't charged anything extra, but the Internet speed would be limited to 1x instead of EVDO, if a Sprint tower wasn't near by. Would not notice any sort of change in voice quality.
@sodaboy581
I love you guys. [Print screen.]
@Distant
Show her the Verizon commercials and let them convince her to get a Pre from Sprint when you go get your well earned EVO and open up a new contract. You deserve it! Go ahead indulge yourself. Redeem yourself for having a woman who isn't as passionate about technology as you are!

@Eternity
+1 rep for that.
I am curious about the durability of these newer phones though.
@Distant I usually wait 3 months after launch to see if any issues surface. Either way given the specs this thing has I expect it to be a long time before you are tempted to buy another device so it will last in that sense.
@Distant
I've been reading your comments and I find you extremely hilarious! LMAO
@Eternity
I doubt many will surface. We know the OS is good and well refined. The hardware in the phone is top notch (like many others). I would suspect a few annoyances and that's about it - which comes with any device. HTC puts out [insert "That's what she said" here.] a good product.
@HipHopIsLyfe37
I'm glad someone appreciates my contributions around here...lol.
I rarely comment anymore ever since Engadget became the Gestapo comment censoring Nazis.
When I see my *relevant to the post* comments disappear it makes baby jesus tear blood. I don't have a right to debate it or fair trial or a Jury. But they have a right to delete as they see fit as it is THEIR blog... and AOL is involved.
@krische
Plus you'll save even more money on calls you don't make since Sprint doesn't have service anywhere near you!
