It has been doing 720p recording in mp4 and playing divx videos in various sizes.

I managed to find a 720p divx movie on my PC and i'm transferring it to my i8910 now, we'll see how it goes :P

It does playback 720p, I have the phone.
I am a moderator @ the i8910 forums.
Google it and search for proper encoding settings for 720p playback.

i know it plays some 720p videos, otherwise it couldn't play what it records :P

anyway i don't see what the point of 720p playback is on a phone with no HDMI-out. a huge waste of gigabytes. 700MB movies look just fine on phones.
