HTC Droid Incredible shows up on official Verizon preview page -- coming April 29th (updated)
Official announcements be damned -- Verizon's just thrown up a "coming soon" preview page for the HTC Incredible. While we didn't necessarily need any more evidence this guy was real -- we've read its user's manual, we've spied shots of it in Verizon's system, and we've seen it in the wild enough times to sketch it quickly from memory with our eyes closed -- it's still exciting news to know that the inevitable unleashing of this beast is nearly upon us.
Update: They've changed up this page already (as you can see from our updated image) -- giving us the date of April 29th. And yes, they're calling it the Droid Incredible.
Update 2: You'll want to hit the read more and check out some photographic evidence of the Incredible making its way to T-Mobile via Costco stores -- it appears to be showing up in inventories now -- we'll keep you posted.
Update 3: And now the website is password protected. That's okay: we know what it said.
[Thanks, Ryan and James]

@ECH
Alright, I've got the entire ad storyboarded.
Setting: A fat Owen Wilson's brother wearing something baggy and brown is sitting in a chair of some crappy modern looking apartment.
Fat Owen Wilson's brother spouts off about some random aspect of AT&T's service without addressing the poor coverage of their 3G network.
Phone rings...
Fat Owen Wilson's brother holds phone up to ear
FOWB: "Hello..."
FOWB's head explodes, while the Incredible hovers over his neck where is head used to be.
Text splashes on screen: "F#ck!ng INCREDIBLE"
DDDDDDDDDDRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDD!
Fade to black.
@ECH or they can go simple:
apple-esque black text on white background: "What if there was a smartphone iDoes everything better ..."
next frame: "And on a better network ..."
next frame: "Why, yes! That would be ..."
next frame: "Incredible"
end
@dima1109
I love it!
Only thing I would add is a fat Owen Wilson's brother's head exploding.
@cherryboom so you hate choices?
@teh jughead you know, when you have choices, they blew it.
TMO!!!!!!!!!!!
wow this is crazy i just got my nexus one on tmobile this week and now they announce this?!?!?!?!?!?!? i want and optical trackpad!!
sick phone
with this phone coming out soon, who cares about the verizon nexus one?
As a Helio customer who's account was bought out by Virgin Mobile USA and then by Sprint, I am currently facing my account being shutdown by Sprint on May 25, 2010. With the crappy phones that Sprint currently has and the EVO 4G not coming out until Summer, which is less attractive without HTC's Sense UI, I would like to thank them for pushing me to purchase Verizon's DROID Incredible when it comes out on April 29. Helio's customers were drawn to it because of technology that is still not being replicated in any of our current platforms whether it be Android, iPhone or WebOS. It's kinda' sad that this is the state of our mobile technology. Again, thanks for forcing me to downgrade my mobile messaging technology to Verizon's DROID Incredible, Sprint. Best wishes to you at staying viable while pissing off what could have been loyal customers.
@trunksy
"which is less attractive without HTC's Sense UI..."
The EVO 4G has Sense on it.
I just want to know when the Droid Incredible Pro comes out? Seriously HTC, just give me a phone with these kind of specs, plus a QWERTY on the same level as the Touch Pro2, and I'm in, with or without my NE2.
Specs dudes

@dreww I swear I'm not crawling out from under a rock but 802.11n is is cool, but no compass? At least I don't see it listed.
BEST. NAME. EVER.
:D! by that time I can upgrade to a new phone. i hope this will be a good first smartphone! excited!
woo finally.
April 29th can't come soon enough
I am extremely sorry, but:
"Verizon's just thrown up..."
hmmm there's actually a GSM for Incredible....
OK, this is what I'm getting to replace my now sluggish iPhone 3G, question is, - how long before it surfaces in the UK?
Sorry Verizon, TOO LITTLE, TOO late! The Sprint EVO is the smarter buy. EVO offers a larger platform and MUCH lower rates through Sprint than Verizon, along with EXCELLENT coverage. I used Sprint for 8 years in the Tampa Bay area with a Treo 755P and other phones before I switched to AT&T for the iPhone 3G, then 3GS. I absolutely cannot wait to ditch AT&T, their ludicrous rates, and the iToy! Hello Sprint EVO, goodbye AT&T, and farewell iToy! Android is the FUTURE! The Droid Incredible is a nice phone for sure, but the Sprint EVO is truly INCREDIBLE!
me wants it!! me needs it!!
That so fucking does it. EXCUSE my language guys. I'm just getting piss off right now. AT&T doesn't have crap for ANDROID or cares for it. I might as well leave a carrier and move to prepaid. I wait and wait and still no good ANDROID I was going give AT&T a few more weeks but I can't stand it no more. Was going to SPRINT for the EVO. But right now I'm just piss off that AT&T won't even bother getting a date release on a good ANDROID PHONE FROM HTC or any other ones. So I'm leaving bye bye carriers. This really pisses me off. That's a hell of a nice phone their. But I didn't even see it at CITA or CES. Just a short clip video of the DROID INCREDIBLE.
if apple came out with android on launch its adoption rate would be the same.. Years of trendy inexpensive mp3 players and years of trendy laptops paved the way for a trendy mid expensive phone/ pda.. How else can hipsters prove they are cool shit when 12 yos have ipods and walking around the mall with a mac book looks idiotic.. I love watching non techies pretend they are doing important shit on their iPhone when its obvious they aren't doing shit.. Its like hey thats not vnc thats tmz
Hell! Damn! I want this phone! I really, really want it.
Got stuck here in Austria/Europe with the HTC Desire, it's crappy AMOLED with Pentile Subpixel-Matrix and cheap and simply uninteresting looking housing.
What's up next? An EVO 4G? No! No EVO for us! :-(
Europe, damn gadget-dessert!
Can't wait to get my Greencard ;-)
@Bluebrain
Can't say I'm happy to see your complaints about the display since incredible is likely the same part, is the following article representative of what you have?
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2010/03/secrets-of-the-nexus-ones-screen-science-color-and-hacks.ars/
I was more worried about touch screen accuracy (as in the following article) what kind of results have you seen?
http://labs.moto.com/diy-touchscreen-analysis/
@TimeForTheFairTax
Man, I think I made mistake. I thought the Incredible has a LCD screen.
Anyway. In a german forum we discussed the AMOLED screen of the desire and after a couple of 100 posts, we came to the following conclusion:
a) if your primary intention is to watch videos and photos, you will love the AMOLED
b) if you use your cell to read news, feeds and visit websites: get your hands off it and buy a Motorola Droid.
The screen of the Moto Droid is not that vivid in color but has a stunning sharpness (270dpi) which lets you read every website in full width without zooming or scrolling.
Whenever you look at the screen, it looks like it's high-quality printed and you cannot identify single pixels. And: white is white! (not pinky like the HTC Desire)
The Desire's Touchscreen:
well, I didn't notice any big problems but also didn't have the time to test it in detail because I returned my Desire because of the crappy screen.
AMOLED might be the feature, but only IN the feature. For now, LCD still seems the best choice.
Well yes, colors are more vivid and black is more black, but it's less noticeable than the blurriness (did I type that right?) and the scraggy edges.
I will keep my Milestone aka Droid and wait for an EVO 4G pendant for Europe which seems to have all, a cell-owner can dream of.
My 2 cents.
@Bluebrain
Thanks for the answer. Pretty much everything I have found seems to back up your opinion.
Just another HTC Boring lookalike android phones.
if this thing continue, htc can't come up with new design, they should sue them self !!!
I am SO glad this is coming out! I am just about to start working at verizon and now I can start off right!
I know this has probably already been addressed, but how is this phone different from the EVO 4G? or from the HTC Desire?
the specs for this device say that it will receive 'google over the air updates'. does that mean they will bypass htc and verizon? what's the story with that?
flash support?
The Costo computer screen shot is a phony! Anyone could type that info into a blank... I don't believe it
htc has changed the game, and if they just so happen to acquire palm, apple can kiss their reign of domination goodbye :p
i want this or a pre plus i love this hardware more but the pre plus mifi app for free is amazing and i like web os more but android has promised long term support :/ such a hard choice it will prolly depend on the battery life for the incredible and if it a pop in or a slot load
@ME
FUCK YEA.
Ho Ho Ho
