Ahhh, sweet relief.
NOW you know why so MANY of us die-hard WinMo 6.x fans love WinMo 6.1. What does this have to do with some Dell Windows Phone 7 models?
It's all in the form, baby. People love their BlackBerries, their Treos, their Pre's and a number of other [media[ unloved devices because of their *form factor*. Portrait with keyboard - ESPECIALLY portrait *touchscreen* with keyboard - RULES.
One handed if you want. Two handed if you want. No need to rotate the entire device to fill a form or type an answer. Rapid access to shortcut keys and functions. Quick snap-off replies, texts and emails without having to concentrate so much on the device - just type and go.
Portrait RULES. Maybe WinPhone7, in the portrait slider format, has legs after all!
@dinoSnake People loved their treos when there was nothing else, sales figures show that there is not much love for Pre and Blackberries are mostly given away by companies and carriers... not much love there... portrait sliders are not a big mainstream deal anymore - but you are welcome to your fetish... I'm sure there are clubs where small keyboardists can have typing competitions and test their eyesight on outrageously small screens ;-)
@dinoSnake
I agree. Portrait touchscreen with physical keyboard makes much more sense for business use to me.
If you like to just watch YouTube, surf the web and play games... full touch or touch with landscape slider may be the better form factor for you.
I switched from a TouchPro to a PalmTreoPro... much better and I don't really miss the bigger screen... at least not as much as I use the keyboard (not to mention the directional pad).
Is AT&T getting all the Dell phones?????
They leaked it on purpose and just stopped me from dumping AT&T and getting a EVO 4 damnit!!
As far as the new iphone we'll see one in june and not another model until next June thats how apple works. Otherwise they would kill there own product and loose cash, Steve is not stupid.
PS: Do you know how many iPhone 3GS sales they just lost by that leaked iPhone 4 info.
@Mofetti Not many, those geeks who saw it weren't buying anyway, most of the public don't know and this is always a slow quarter for iPhone with a June/July update a certainty. However, not all countries will get a 4G/HD in June so those places probably won't suffer much...
I wish lighting had android and the keyboard.
The phones look great but I like android better than windows.
...and whats up with spongebob on the screen?
WoW. I think I'm skipping the next iPhone and getting thunder.
I imagine WebOS on those devices...
mmmmmmmmm mmmm goood!
cant compete with htc
No bad, but I am concerned about cutting myself on the edges corners of the device..........I really don't understand why any company goes with such a 'boxey' design.......at least round the corners off a bit!
BlaaawwwkkkLightin'!
Dude where is my Dell?
@Tohe In the vapor...
wow, pretty tempting, i like the vertical slider.
I have been holding off upgrading my phone in anticipation of Windows Phone 7.
I’m having trouble getting excited about these phones when the latest greatest is essentially only an 8 gig Zune HD Smrtphone. (with much less than that being available)
That won’t even skim the surface of my music collection let alone allow me to use any fun apps.
I hope by the holiday one manufacturer will justify my wait and give us a more practical 32gig or better version.
so when one of these prototypes goes 'missing', is MS going to ask, "Who stole my thunder?"?
These look great!
Hmm... did you guys buy this phone at a bar?
I've been a T-Mobile loyal for a looong time now, but I'm seriously considering AT&T for a chance at these bad boys.
If that Lightning shows Flash, I will buy it when it comes out! No question!
with those curvy sides it's gonna be hard to leave it inside my planner...
i wish they made an android version of that phone.
HOLY MOTHER OF NATURE !!!!!!!!!!!!
After being a Sony Ericsson fan for such a long time and disappointed every time except for the K750i
I've finally met a phone that LOOKS SO SEXY AND got sweeeeeeeeeeeet sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet android !
phaha when i get the Thunder i'll be the one showing off on the bus instead of those damn iphone lovers.
now lets hope this "LEAK" isn't just a photoshopped concept design or I'd be cursing all day long
