Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 upgrades to Atom D510, keeps NVIDIA Ion, 1080p playback, and ultraslim look
The world might be all abuzz about Ion 2 already, but we reckon we can still make room for an NVIDIA Ion nettop that measures a malnourished 21mm in width and offers full 1080p video playback. The successor to Lenovo's IdeaCentre Q110, the Q150 is built around a pair of Intel Atom options -- the single-core D410 or dual-core D510, both running at 1.6GHz -- and will come with Windows 7 Home (Basic or Premium) preloaded, built-in WiFi, a quartet of USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI output should you pick up the Ion option. The wireless Multimedia Remote with Keyboard is also optional, but Lenovo seems to rightly expect you to want one in order to match the stylishness of the machine. The starting price for this little beaut is listed at $249, with availability by the end of June, but expect to pay quite a bit more for the fully outfitted option above. One more intimate pic of the Q150 awaits after the break.

I LOVE these...seriously for the price you can have on with every HDTV in the house standard.
@yulebellow They should just build this into every higher end hdtv!
What the hell is they keyboard thing supposed... how the hell do I...where does it........how do- nevermind..
@eddieexe
IDK what you're talking about!? I hope the wireless keyboard/trackball piece is Bluetooth and sold separately! I want one!
you can get the lenovo keyboard thingy for like 79$ or something at fry's
it's bluetooth or something...
@eddieexe alright settle down everyone. the keyboard/trackball remote is sold separately. i got mine off their website for $35. it is not Bluetooth and uses a USB dongle. it is plug-and-play with pretty much every OS (i've used it with Windows 7, XP and Ubuntu) works very well. my only gripe is no backlight and can't click the trackball. there's the facts.
@kojo87
it was last known to be compatible with PS3 as well
Sweet.
But can it play Hulu in full screen?
@method Sir, that is the most important question of them all.
@method It's NVIDIA Ion, so with Flash 10.1 beta, it will do so beautifully.
not to mention if you get the dual core model with even an intel gpu would play hulu with out much of an issue.
@method
Anandtech reviewed a D510 / ION2 nettop and found that full screen HD flash video playback is not working right now. NVIDIA promised an updated driver but currently this is probably a no-go. See their review for full story.
Is that a serial port up there?
(It will be replaced by VGA, right?)
@Mack Wong
looks like they intended it to b VGA, there is a monitor icon above it! that's a very strange oopsie!
@Mack Wong
LOL wtf, that IS a serial port.
Photoshop disaster?
@DoctarPeppar
Actually a serial port would be male. That looks more like an old CGA port!
In on one of these as long as I can trick it out under 500!
@CarpeD1em500
250 look at the press release
@k2001
Where is the press release? I don't see it and I don't see a source link either...
@k2001

read the article brah...I don't want it barebones!
Awesome HTPC for the price.
I hope they have a cheap small SSD option! =)
On slickdeals they also recently had great deals on the HP Home Servers for centralizing all your storage/backup (on sale since the new ones are due shortly) which would be a great 1-2 punch with a couple of these attached to your TVs around the house.
I like it.... maybe something to get this summer :)
Wow. I really want this. Consume!!! Om nom nom nom
@(Unverified)
you're still unverified!?!

I kinda want that keyboard thingiebob..
I've had a Revo now for about 5 months...I can't imagine not having a computer hooked to the TV now. If you are on the fence about the idea...don't be...its awesome.
Wish they made one of these with 5.1 sound out with a vertical PCI/e card riser inside for a digital tuner card, USB tuners are OK but the quality is piss poor.
beautiful. now stick a blu ray external drive with usb 3.0 support on both external drive and the comp and ill buy
@dds1043
Second that notion.
TV manufacturers, please see to it that this comes to pass.
@engadget
This is ION2. The original ION can't be used together with an Atom D510.
Does the back side have VESA mount points on it?
@Tes
From the Lenovo website (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/landing_pages/ideacentre/2010/q150):
# Mounts to back of your monitors with VESA bracket compatibility
# Can be converted into an AIO by attaching to your monitor
That is to the left an image of it mounted to the back of a monitor.
Dude... I'm buying this, freakin' awesome.
I used Q110 which was a really nice design but didn't deliver good results on 42" screen. I moved to Q700 which has been a phenomenal solution for Windows Media Center solution. I'd like to try this Q150 when it becomes available, I really like to form factor.
@cemkur
How did you like the Q700? Was it loud?
@Plazmic Flame
I am obsessed with a quite WMC solution and Q700 is great answer, but I should remind that I replaced the built in HD with a small SSD. Coupled with Windows Home Server, I have an excellent solution.
@Plazmic Flame
I forgot to mention, unlike Q700, the Q110 was noisy so I don't know if they will be able to reduce the noise level on Q150 but doubt it. I opened up the Q110 case and noticed they packed so much in such a tiny space, very impressive job.
I've been looking for a new mountain bike seat. This might just do the trick! I'll have a mini pc for sale if anyone is interested.
I'm on the lookout for something like this but with a blu-ray drive so that it could replace my current HTPC, which is a bit on the big side and consumes lots of watts.
