This is actually great for a backup recording device as well. I have my H4 and use it for EVERYTHING, but this is cheap enough to have laying around for all types of recording purposes.
Perfect price point for college students who are allowed to record lectures. You don't exactly need a 4-track recorder and XLR inputs for that.
It also looks small enough to sneak into concerts, tee hee...
